CJHL 3 Stars of the Month for November

CALGARY, Alberta – The Gongshow CJHL 3 Stars for the month of November 2014 are Alex Tonge (Kingston Voyageurs, OJHL), Steve Harland (Powassan Voodoos, NOJHL) and Lucas Batt (Amherst Ramblers, MHL).

1st STAR – ALEX TONGE, F, Kingston Voyageurs, OJHL (8 GP, 11 G, 9 A, 20 PTS, 2.5 PPG)

The Vees' veteran led the OJHL in scoring throughout November, recording 11 goals and 20 points in just 8 games played.  He tallied at least one goal and two points in all but one of the club's eight games in the month, while jumping to sixth overall with his 19 goals and tenth in the league scoring race with 37 points in just 20 games played.  Tonge opened the month with a two goal performance in a 4-3 victory over Newmarket and followed that up with an impressive three goal, six point outing in a 7-6 thrilling win over Lindsay.  Perhaps most impressive, however, was a one goal, four point outing as Kingston downed division rival Cobourg 8-2 on November 24, followed by back-to-back two point performances versus the nationally ranked Georgetown Raiders.  Tonge is committed to join the Robert Morris University Colonials beginning next season.

He is also presently eighth in NOJHL scoring.

The second year MHL veteran, back in the league after a stint with the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats and Quebec Remparts, was named third star of the week in the MHL for November 17th-23rd. As of the end of the month, Batt stands second in the league with 21 goals and third overall in points with 37.
