Conley Commits to Holy Cross for 2018/19

Fort McMurray, AB – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are excited to announce that 19 year old forward Will Conley (Strathmore, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Holy Cross Crusaders of the Atlantic Hockey Conference (NCAA Division I), starting in the 2018-19 season.

In 116 career games over two seasons with the Oil Barons, Will has 41 goals and 45 assists. This season, he also played an integral role in helping the Oil Barons capture a North Division regular season title and appearance in the North Division Final during the playoffs.

“Will has demonstrated that he can be a dominant player in our league,” said Oil Barons Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca.  “He has tremendous speed and a very heavy shot. He’s also a fierce competitor. As an organization, we’re extremely happy for him and we know he’ll be successful at the next level with Holy Cross.”

Will becomes the second Oil Baron this season to commit to a post-secondary institution. In December, Brandon Ralph (Fort McMurray, AB) committed to attend and play for the NAIT Ooks of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) beginning next season.
