Crusaders, GM Kyle Chase Part Ways

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club have relieved Kyle Chase of his duties as General Manager effective immediately.

“Kyle has been integral to the Crusaders organization for the better part of two decades,” commented Crusaders President Kevin Love. “Whether as an owner or General Manager, Kyle’s dedication to the organization was unmatched. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Chase first joined the organization in 2004 as part of the Crusaders Hockey Society, spending 12 years as co-owner and governor of the club.

On May 27, 2016, Chase assumed the role of General Manager and President of Hockey Operations. In his time as GM, Chase compiled a 153-83-8 record and guided the team to a record level of success. Under his tenure, the Crusaders saw themselves ranked #1 in the entire CJHL for the first time, earning that distinction in the midst of last season’s AJHL regular season championship season. Additionally, the team also saw three players selected in the NHL Draft, with Carter Gylander (2019), Carter Savoie, and Michael Benning (2020) all hearing their names called through Chase’s run as general manager.

The Crusaders would like to thank Kyle for his time, dedication, and passion throughout his tenure with the organization.
