Daneault, Brown and Court Receive AJHL Weekly Player Awards

The Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week is Ty Daneault of the Drumheller Dragons.  With six points (4G, 2A) in two games from October 31st to November 6th, Daneault was also twice awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game.

Ty Daneault (Red Deer, AB) recorded his eighth goal of the season to open the scoring on November 4th versus Okotoks.  On November 5th, he scored a hat trick and added two assists in a 7-2 win over the Camrose Kodiaks.

The second year Dragon leads the team in scoring with 21 points (11G, 10A).  The 2004-born forward is committed to Merrimack College (NCAA)

Okotoks Oilers defenceman Rylan Brown is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with four points (1G, 3A) in two victories.  Brown (2005) has recorded five points in four games since joining the Oilers by trade from the Drayton Valley Thunder at the end of October.

Brown (Sherwood Park, AB) had two two-point games last week, starting with a pair of assists in a 5-2 win over the Drumheller Dragons on November 4th.  He scored his first goal as an Oiler and an assist in a 5-3 victory versus the Spruce Grove Saints on November 5th.

The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is Sam Court of the Brooks Bandits following a seven-point performance with three goals and four assists over two games.

Court (2004) scored a hat trick in his second consecutive six-point game as the Bandits trumped the Camrose Kodiaks 10-3 on November 2nd.  He was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game for the Bandits.  Court recorded his league leading 29th assist of the season on November 4th as the Bandits shutout the Grande Prairie Storm 5-0.

Court was awarded as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for the past three consecutive weeks.  The University of New Hampshire (NCAA) commit is fourth in AJHL Scoring, second overall amongst rookies, and leads all AJHL defencemen in goals (7), assists (29) and points (36).
