The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 1993 born Defenseman Eric Chevrier has committed to play at Queen’s University. Located in Kingston, ON the “Gaels” play in the OUA Conference of the CIS under Head Coach Brett Gibson. This past season the Gaels finished 4th in the OUA East Division with a record of 17-6-5.
Eric is from South Cayuga, ON and grew up playing minor hockey for the Toronto Marlboro’s Hockey Club. He then took an opportunity to attend Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA where he played for the “Penguins” under Head Coach Rob Gagnon. Last season the Bandits acquired Eric from the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL and since that time he has been a force on the blue line helping the Bandits to the 2013 RBC Cup Championship. This season Eric is an Assistant Captain and has led the team to their third consecutive finish atop the South Division.

He demonstrates maturity far beyond his years and serves as a great role model to our younger players. Eric’s qualities as a person have gone a long way in our community and it’s safe to say that he’s well liked and respected in the City of Brooks. On the ice Eric has given us toughness and simplicity that has been a big factor in our team’s success. He is a player that we count on defensively in all situations on a nightly basis. I am very happy for Eric as this commitment will help him achieve his long term academic goals.”
