Grande Prairie Storm defenceman William Haley is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week with a league leading eight points in four consecutive Storm wins.
William Haley (2005) compiled a four-game point streak to close out the 2025-26 AJHL regular season. He posted two assists in a 7-1 road win versus the Devon Xtreme on March 9th and added another assist in the rematch the next night in a 5-4 win. On March 13th, the veteran blueliner put up two assists as the Storm defeated the visiting Drayton Valley Thunder 4-1, then recorded three assists to finish the double header with an 8-1 victory.
Haley concluded his final Junior season with 21 points (2G, 19A) in 32 games played after joining the Storm in December 2025.
Teammate Rylan Bissett is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week with five points (3G, 2A) in the final games of his first Junior season.
Bissett scored two goals in the opening game of a double header versus the Xtreme. The 2007-born forward added his third goal of the week on March 13th against the Thunder, then recorded two assists in the final game of the regular season on March 14th. Bissett had 25 points (13G, 12A) in 27 games played, placing him third in rookie scoring for the Storm.
Haley, Bisset and the Storm have advanced to the 2026 Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs as the second seed in the Bunge AJHL North Division and will face the Lloydminster Bobcats.
For a third time in the 2025-26 season, Tristan Payne of the Drumheller Dragons has been selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. The 2006-born defenceman scored four goals during the week of March 9th-15th, 2026.
Payne was the overtime hero with a game winning goal on March 10th in a 2-1 victory over the division leading Canmore Eagles. On March 13th, he scored his first AJHL hat trick in a 6-5 loss to the Calgary Canucks and was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game for his performance.
Payne is fourth in scoring among all AJHL defencemen with 39 points (11G, 28A) in 53 regular season games.
The Dragons will face the Camrose Kodiaks in the opening round of the 2026 Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs after finishing the season second in the Bunge AJHL South Division.
