Martin Commits to Bemidji State

Drumheller, AB – The Drumheller Dragons are excited to announce that 19 year-old forward Eric Martin has committed to Bemidji State University. The Beavers play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and are currently sitting second overall in their conference with an 8-3-2 record.

The 2019-20 season is Martin’ second with the Drumheller Dragons. The 5?11 forward from Calgary currently leads the Dragons in points with 39 points in 31 games played. In two seasons, Eric has played in a total of 98 career AJHL games and has contributed 70 points. Before joining the Dragons, Eric spent two seasons in the Alberta Midget Hockey League with the Calgary Flames where he was also a key offensive contributor and leader.

?Eric brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy in the way he competes,? says Dragons Coach Kevin Hasselberg. ?Eric can take on many roles as a 200-foot player in the game. His creativity and patience combined with his tenacity and determination will make him a tremendous college player that can step right into a line up and play. Eric is a glue player that keeps the room engaged whom teammates respect and enjoy being around. His positive attitude is infectious and his contributions are numerous.?

The Drumheller Dragons would like to thank the entire coaching staff of the Bemidji State Beavers for all their recruiting efforts and invested time following and expressing interest in Eric. We also wish to extend a congratulations out to Eric, his entire family and support team, with this accomplishment.
