MATT CORBET COMMITS TO FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS

The Grande Prairie Storm are proud to announce that Captain Matt Corbet has committed to the Ferris State Bulldogs ( NCAA Div. I ). Ferris State University is located in Big Rapids, Michigan. The team plays in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association conference known as the CCHA.

 

Matt had this to say regarding his commitment. “I am beyond excited for this opportunity to attend Ferris State University and play Division 1 hockey. I would like to say thank you to my family, teammates, coaches and everyone else who supported me throughout the way to make it possible. I am honoured to become a part of the Bulldogs organization and to further my hockey and academic pursuits at Ferris State.”

 

”We’re very happy and excited for Matt committing to Ferris State, ” stated Storm General Manager Mark Bomersback . ”This is a well earned  and deserved opportunity for him. He’s been everything we hoped for, on and off, the ice since his arrival to Grande Prairie. Matt is a mature young man who represents everything we want in our organization. He is a great addition for the Bulldogs and we look forward to his continued success this season and beyond at Ferris State.”

 

This season is Corbet’s first with the Storm. In 20 games the 6’4 Calgary, Alberta resident sits with 9 goals and 3 assists. Matt was acquired this past offseason from the Calgary Canucks where he had played the previous 3 seasons.
