MORGAN BRADY COMMITS TO ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

(Spruce Grove, AB) – The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce first-year defenseman Morgan Brady has committed to the Arizona State University Sun Devils who compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) of the NCAA’s Men’s Hockey Division I.

Brady has had a solid rookie campaign to date, compiling 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) through 19 games played. Prior to his time in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Brady developed with the Northern Alberta Xtreme in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) where he played three seasons, putting up 36 points through 59 games played across the U15, U16 and U18 Divisions.

The 6’1”, 185-pound forward from Woking, AB will become the third Saint to commit to Arizona State University, following former Captain Tyler Busch and former defenseman Jarrod Gourley. Busch and Gourley now play in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), Busch with Iowa and Gourley with Adirondack.

Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about Brady’s commitment saying, “Brady’s commitment to the game and willingness to learn is unbelievable for a young defenseman in our league. He continues to work extremely hard as an individual and makes everyone around him better. Morgan defends exceptionally well, competes hard and can wow you with great offensive instincts. ASU is getting a quality player and I am very happy for the Brady family.”

An excited Brady also weighed in on the big news saying, “I am very excited and honoured to commit to Arizona State and continue my hockey journey. I am so grateful for the support I have received throughout my hockey career and would especially like to thank the Spruce Grove Saints for allowing me the opportunity to play for such a great organization. I’d also like to thank my family who have always been there to support me and help me throughout my hockey career. I cannot wait to be a Sun Devil!”

Brady joins Luigi Benincasa (Ferris State), Liam Watkins (Nebraska-Omaha), Breck McKinley (Bowling Green), Alexander Babich (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Carter Oakenfold (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) and Brandon Spaulding (Holy Cross) as committed players to NCAA Divisions I Universities this season.

The entire Saints organization would like to congratulate Morgan and his family on his commitment.
