The Olds Grizzlys along with the Town of Olds are pleased to announce that the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship pre-tournament game between Sweden and Denmark will be held Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 at the Olds Sportplex. Olds is honored to have been chosen by Hockey Canada as a site for this International pre-tournament game.
The town of Olds will also be hosting team Sweden for the week of December 17th-24th prior to the World Junior Championship Tournament being held in Calgary and Edmonton December 26 2011 – January 5 2012.
Jim Ross, President of the Olds Grizzlys, believes “this is the first time that there has been an international game of such importance in our Town and we are looking forward to the event”.
Tickets for the game will go on sale, Wednesday October 26th, 2011 to Olds Grizzlys season ticket holders and then to the general public on Thursday October 27th, 2011. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Olds Grizzlys office 403-556-1121.
