The Oil Barons would like to congratulate Merritt Oszytko (Edmonton, AB) on committing to the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers (NCAA Div. 1), beginning next season.
Oszytko, 19, was acquired in a trade with the Sherwood Park Crusaders last week and registered his first goal as an Oil Baron last weekend against his former team. In 116 career AJHL games with the Crusaders, Oszytko has 34 goals and 79 points.
Oszytko becomes the third Oil Baron on the team’s active roster to commit to a post-secondary institution for next season. Will Conley (Strathmore, AB) will attend and play for Holy Cross (NCAA DIv. 1), while Eric Szudor (Edmonton, AB) will attend and play for Alaska-Anchorage (NCAA Div. 1).
