Plandowski (2005) opened October with a three-point (2G, 1A) game on October 1st, including the game winning goal, in a 4-2 win versus the Drumheller Dragons. Jack was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game for the Canucks. On October 4th, the Halifax, NS forward scored a goal and an assist in a 7-2 win over the Olds Grizzlys. Plandowski extended his current point streak to five games with an assist on October 6th as the Canucks defeated the Camrose Kodiaks 4-1.
The Calgary Canucks have compiled a six-game winning streak early in the season with the assistance of goaltender Lukas Renaud. The 2004-born goalie was selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with a 2-0 record for the Canucks during that time.
Renaud (Montreal, QC) made 23 saves to defeat the Dragons on the road October 1st and 29 saves in the 4-1 victory over the Kodiaks on October 6th. Renaud has won all three of his starts this season and already has a shutout to his name. In his second AJHL Season, Renaud is tied for second overall with a 1.00 GAA and .959 save percentage.
Canmore Eagles goaltender Hudson Sedo is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week with two road wins for the Eagles on a North Division swing. Sedo (St Albert, AB) allowed just one goal on 20 shots in Grande Prairie to take a 5-1 win on October 4th and made 19 saves the following night to sneak by the Whitecourt Wolverines 3-2.
Sedo (2006) is 4-0 in the regular season with one shutout and is tied with Lukas Renaud with a 1.00 GAA and .959 save percentage.
