Riley McDougall Commits to University of Massachusetts

The Calgary Mustangs are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Riley McDougall has committed to play for the University of Massachusetts beginning in 2014-2015. Located in Amherst, Mass the “Minutemen” are led by Head Coach John Micheletto and play in the very competitive Hockey East Conference.

A native Calgarian, Riley grew up in the SE playing hockey in the Calgary Buffalo Hockey Association. He joined the Mustangs for his final year of Junior and proceeded to lead the team in goals (30) and points (61). In 150 career AJHL games, Riley scored 103 points on 48 goals and 55 assists.

Calgary Mustangs Head Coach/Assistant GM Derek Stuart- “Riley worked hard this season and really took advantage of his role with the team. He was relied upon for offense and he produced with over a point per game. UMass is getting an excellent student and a hockey player with a lot of upside”.

The Calgary Mustangs organization is very proud of Riley and would like to congratulate him and his family on this accomplishment.

Riley is the second Mustang to commit to the NCAA this season joining Phelan Shaw (University of Minnesota-Duluth).
