Saints, Kodiaks and Bandits Hold On in CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings

CALGARY, Alberta – The top two teams in the Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings continue to roll over their opposition, as the Terriers maintain their 12-game winning streak and the Saints extended their winning streak to a whopping 16 straight games without a loss. This past week also saw severe winter weather play havoc with the schedule in the Maritime Hockey League, and their re-scheduled games will have huge importance in the tight playoff races in both divisions of the MHL.

The Penticton Vees lost a tough one to the Trail Smoke Eaters over the weekend, with the Smokies eking out an overtime victory, while the Vernon Vipers have picked a bad time to struggle offensively. The Alberta Junior Hockey League sees the top three teams firmly planted at the top of the overall standings, but a tight race is forming between the Okotoks Oilers, Drumheller Dragons and the Lloydminster Bobcats for fourth spot overall.

The Melfort Mustangs and the Kindersley Klippers remain the top two teams in the SJHL, while the Steinbach Pistons and the Winnipeg Blues are battling for second place overall in the MJHL behind the Portage Terriers.

The Fort Frances Lakers saw their extended winning streak come to an end during the SIJHL Showcase, but the Lakers remain firmly on top of the standings. In the NOJHL, the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners are still virtually deadlocked with the Soo Thunderbirds for first place, while the Elliot Lake Wildcats have played well since Christmas, and are gaining ground on the top two teams.

The Aurora Tigers are battling with the Trenton Golden Hawks and the Georgetown Raiders for top spot in the OJHL, while the Carleton Place Canadians are still the cream of the crop in the CCHL.

The College Francais de Longueuil are in a tight battle with the Sherbrooke Cougars and the Titan de Princeville for the overall lead in the LHJQ standings.

Despite the recent brutal winter weather, the Woodstock Slammers remain at the top of the standings in the MHL, however the Dieppe Commandos enter the Top 20 rankings this week with a great winning percentage and several games in hand.
