Stewart Commits to Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

SHERWOOD PARK, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders are pleased to announce that 1997 born Forward Dylan Stewart has committed to the NAIT Ooks of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

“It was a goal at the start of the year to attend a great school close to home after my junior career. I know a lot of guys on the team, there is a lot of skill and I think I can fit in,” says Stewart. The Edmonton, AB product is coming off a career year putting up 32 goals and 35 assists totaling 67 points, tied for 10th in AJHL scoring with teammate Ryan Cox in 2017-18.

“We are very happy to hear Dylan has committed to NAIT, it’s a very high esteemed program in the ACAC. He’s had an excellent year tying for the lead in points with our team. Dylan is a power forward that can be an impact player in any game. We are proud to see him get a great educational opportunity.” says Crusaders Head Coach Adam Manah.

“I’m hoping to take a business and be a part of a potential championship winning program, I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to get an education and continue my hockey career,” added Stewart.

Prior to being acquired by the Crusaders this past offseason, Stewart spent part of last season with the Bonnyville Pontiacs and the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. The 6’2 209 lbs forward was drafted by the Prince Albert Raiders in the fifth round of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. The Ooks currently have six former Crusaders on their roster as well as former coaches Tim Fragle and Shawn Belle.
