Post-Season Means New Season for Storm
At the start of the post-season, like at the beginning of the regular season, everyone has the same record.
This is because when the Grande Prairie Storm kick off their best-of-five playoff series against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons this Saturday night in Fort McMurray, both the Storm and the Oil Barons will be sporting 0-0-0 records.
“That’s the only way you can look at it,” Storm defenceman Ryan Hamberg said. “Whether you’re the first place team or entering (the play-offs) as the seventh seed, it doesn’t matter; it’s a fresh start. Crazy things tend to happen in the play-offs.
“Anyone can win and that’s the best part about it.”
Laying It All On the Line
After 60 regular season games and countless bus trips all over Alberta, the AJHL playoffs have finally arrived.
Time flies when you’re having fun and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons have certainly had their share to the tune of a 47-9-4 record, however, none of that matters much now.
This is the time where players and coaches lay it all on the line.
