With their fourth Gas Drive Cup in six years, the Spruce Grove Saints are at the peak of the AJHL. They have appeared in five of the last six finals, only missing out in 2012. And since 2009, it has been the Saints who have been fighting for a shot at a league championship, year after year, and a trip to the RBC Cup.
But the AJHL is 50 years old, and in that time, there have been some top notch teams that have come along and dominated the league over an extended period of time, winning multiple championships or at the very least, competed for the league title and came up short. Here is a look at a few teams that were able to put a small hold on the AJHL at one point in the league's 50-year history.
