Drayton Valley, Alta. – Drayton Valley Thunder President, Monte Waronek, is pleased to announce that the Thunder have hired Kyle Adams as the organization’s new Head Coach. Kyle Adams has over 12 years coaching experience, leading Junior A teams to success in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Maritimes.
Adams has coached his teams to division championships in five of the past six seasons. Adams joins the Thunder following a very successful season, losing in the Western Canada Cup final to the Brooks Bandits, as the Chilliwack Chiefs Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager. Adams was also instrumental in leading his team to a Silver medal in the Royal Bank Cup National Championship during the 2011 -12 season. Kyle has a great track record of developing players and supporting them to move on to play hockey at the next level.
“We are incredibly excited to have recruited someone of Kyle’s expertise and character to lead the Thunder,” said Waronek. “Kyle fits with the new culture we are building here in Drayton Valley. We know that he will be instrumental in restoring the winning tradition of the Thunder and giving our fans something to be very excited about.”
