Tonight in the AJHL – Game Night Wrap Up

It's the final day of the AJHL regular season that will see 14 teams play on Saturday.

Drumheller Dragons (31-21-7) @ Camrose Kodiaks (47-8-4)
(Season series Kodiaks lead 5-0) (Streaks Dragons won 3, Kodiaks 9-0-1)
Adam Wheeldon scored once and added an assist as the Kodiaks topped the Dragons 5-2.
The Kodiaks would outscore the Dragons 3-1 in the opening frame. Scott Ivey (assist to Tristan Thompson @0:40) pounced on the rebound beating Kodiaks (starting) goaltender Devin McDonald. The Kodiaks would tie the game on the power play. Dallas Bergstrom (assist to Valik Chichkin @3:19) from the point would rip a shot over the shoulder of Dragons (starting) goaltender Curtis Skip. Cole McBride (assist to Tanner Younghans @7:03) picked up the loose puck and snapped a shot past Skip. The Kodiaks would extend their lead to two on the power play. Adam Wheeldon (assist to Scott Ferguson @10:42) from just inside the blue line put a shot towards the net that would get past Skip. Shots favored the Dragons 12-9.
The two teams would exchange goals in the second. Spencer Kryczka (unassisted @6:41) would stuff the puck in on a wrap around to give the Kodiaks their fourth straight goal. Jacob Schofield (assist to Mitchell Cook @17:16) blasted a one-timer past McDonald to cut the Kodiaks lead to two goals. Shots favored the Kodiaks 13-11 in the second but were 23-22 Dragons in the hockey game.
The Kodiaks would get the lone goal in the third. Parker Kelly (assist to Adam Wheeldon @11:10) from the top of the slot snapped a shot past the blocker of Skip. Shots favored the Kodiaks 21-8 in the third and 43-31 overall.
The Kodiaks will host the lowest seed on March 13th while the Dragons will host Olds on March 4th.

Calgary Mustangs (20-35-4) @ Brooks Bandits (42-13-4)
(Season series Bandits lead 5-0) (Streaks Mustangs lost 1, Bandits 5-0-2)
Anthony Paskaruk had a hat trick and two assists as the Bandits defeated the Mustangs 6-2.
The Bandits would jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Shane Bear (assists to Anthony Paskaruk and Austin Plevy @2:03) took a drop pass at the top of the slot and snapped a shot over the glove of Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Anthony Paskaruk (assists to Josh McKechney and Shane Bear @10:01) was left all alone in front of the net and made no mistake when the puck came to him. Josh McKechney (assists to Kyler Nachtigall and Anthony Paskaruk @17:16) would tuck the puck in from the side of the net to give the Bandits a 3-0 lead. Shots favored the Bandits 16-5.
The two teams would exchange a pair of goals in the second. While shorthanded Vincent Paquette (unassisted @2:04) on a breakaway down the left side would snap a shot past Bandits (starting) goaltender Michael Fredrick. The Bandits would respond on the power play. Anthony Paskaruk (assists to Jared Cockrell and Austin Plevy @8:22) made no mistake on a cross crease pass to score his second of the night to restore the three goal lead. Anthony Paskaruk (assists to Cale Makar and Charlie Marchand @10:24) finished off the hat trick when he took a friendly bounce off the boards and flipped the puck past a sprawling Dattani. The Mustangs would get that goal back on the power play. Brad Forrest (assists to Jared Virtanen and Adam Berg @12:47) with a wrist shot from the point that would find a way past Fredrick. The Mustangs would pull Dattani after the second period, he would give up five goals on 33 shots. Shots favored the Bandits 17-8 in the second and 33-13 in the hockey game.
The Bandits would score the lone goal in the third period on the power play.  Shane Bear (assists to Jared Cockrell and Austin Plevy @11:18) blasted a shot over the shoulder of Mustangs (backup) goaltender Matthew Huber. Shots favored the Bandits 17-10 in the third and 50-23 overall.
The Mustangs and Bandits will meet up again in round one of the playoffs in Brooks on March 5th.

Calgary Canucks (17-33-9) @ Okotoks Oilers (37-16-6)
(Season series Oilers lead 5-0) (Streaks Canucks 0-1-2, Oilers lost 2)
Connor Chambers had a goal and an assist as the Oilers edged the Canucks 4-3 in overtime.
The two teams would exchange goals in the first. Chase McMurphy (assists to Trent Geiger and Matteo Milroy @14:11) on a goalmouth scramble would poke the puck past Oilers (starting) goaltender Riley Morris. Trey Degraaf (assist to Nolan Thompson @19:36) from a sharp angle would beat Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper. Shots were even 10-10.
The Oilers would outscore the Canucks 2-1 in the second to take a 3-2 lead. Matt McNair (assists to Connor Chambers and Frankie Spellman @2:09) tipped a shot in from the point to give the Oilers their first lead of the night. On the power play, the Oilers would extend their lead. Connor Chambers (assists to Carson Beers and Frankie Spellman @5:03) wristed a shot from the point that got past the pad of Cooper. Bryson Gore (assist to Cade Owad @19:34) would blast a shot from the slot over the blocker of Morris. Shots favored the Canucks 14-13 in the second and 24-23 in the hockey game.
The Canucks would push and get the lone goal to send the game to overtime. Matteo Milroy (assists to Trent Geiger and Sean Davies @13:54) with a deflection in front of the net would tie the game and send it to overtime. Shots favored the Canucks 11-3 in the third and 35-26 after regulation.
Overtime would last nearly three minutes before the Oilers would win it. Jordie Lawson (assist to Stephen Doane @2:49) walked around the defense and backhanded a shot past Cooper. Shots favored the Oilers 2-0 in overtime but were 35-28 overall in favor of the Canucks.
The Canucks next game will be in September while the Oilers will host Canmore on Mach 5th.

Drayton Valley Thunder (24-23-12) @ Olds Grizzlys (23-27-9)
(Season series Thunder lead 2-0) (Streaks Thunder 0-1-1, Grizzlys lost 4)
Christopher Gerrie had a goal and two assists as the Grizzlys edged the Thunder 4-3.
Christopher Gerrie (assists to BJ Duffin and Tyrell Mappin @3:09) would jam the puck past Thunder (starting) goaltender Garret Mason. On the power play, the Grizzlys would add to their lead. BJ Duffin (assists to Christopher Gerrie and Landon Kletke @4:43) on the rebound would flip the puck into the back of the net. Tyrell Mappin (assists to Christopher Gerrie and Jack Goranson @7:14) blasted a one-timer five-hole on Mason. That would spell the end of the night for Mason, who would give up three goals on seven shots. Shots favored the Grizzlys 11-10.
The two teams would exchange goals in the second. Brayden Harris (assist to Hayden Dawes @1:07) took a centering pass and blasted a one-timer past Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Jesse Gordichuk. The Grizzlys would get that goal back on the power play. Kirk Johnson (assists to Colton Sheen and Kyle Moore @7:37) from the left faceoff circle would snap a shot past Thunder (backup) goaltender Marc-Olivier Daigle. Shots favored the Thunder 15-7 in the second and 25-18 in the hockey game.
The Thunder would get a pair of goals in the third. Hayden Dawes (assists to Brett Smythe and Brendan Kallis @4:46) wristed a shot over the glove of Gordichuk. While shorthanded the Thunder would get within one. Trevor Poirier (assist to Brett Smythe @17:06) on a breakaway would backhand the puck five-hole on Gordichuk. Shots favored the Thunder 12-10 in the third and 37-28 overall.
Both teams will be in action March 5th. The Thunder will be in Bonnyville while the Grizzlys will be in Drumheller on March 4th.

Bonnyville Pontiacs (29-19-11) @ Spruce Grove Saints (48-6-5)
(Season series Saints lead 4-1) (Streaks Pontiacs 9-0-5, Saints 22-0-2)
Mitch Fritz had a goal and a helper as the Pontiacs edged the Saints 4-3.
The Pontiacs outscored the Saints 2-1 in the opening frame. Jack Hamly (assists to Paul Lovsin and Nicolas Correale @2:15) redirected a shot past Pontiacs (starting) goaltender Troy Trombley. Corey Santoro (assist to Mitch Fritz @8:53) from the top of the slot would wrist a shot over the blocker of Saints (starting) goaltender Brett Zarowny. Cody Fiala (assists to Evan Warmington and Dillan McCombie @19:57) point shot found a way through Zarowny. Shots favored the Pontiacs 12-8.
The Pontiacs would double their lead in the second and take a 4-2 lead. Mitch Fritz (assist to Bobby McMann @4:12) on the rebound would tap the puck into the open side to make it 3-1. Chad Hurtubise (assist to Evan Warmington @9:33) cleaned up the rebound beating Zarowny. The Saints would get one back on the power play. Josh Harris (assists to Lukas Biensch and Riley Simpson @13:57) from the left faceoff circle would beat Trombley five-hole. Shots favored the Pontiacs 13-11 in the period and 25-19 in the hockey game.
The Saints would get the lone goal in the third. Paul Lovsin (assists to Brendan Holterhus and Connor James @15:57) on a delayed penalty would wrist a shot five-hole on Trombley. Shots favored the Saints 5-4 in the third but were 29-24 Pontiacs overall.
The Pontiacs will host Drayton Valley on March 5th while he Saints will host the lowest team in the North on March 13th.

Sherwood Park Crusaders (27-25-7) @ Grande Prairie Storm (15-40-4)
(Season series Crusaders lead 4-1) (Streaks Crusaders won 1, Storm 0-10-1)
Cole Gammer scored a goal and added a helper as the Crusaders edged the Storm 3-2.
Both teams would exchange goals in the first. The Storm would open the scoring on the power play. Josh Zablocki (assists to Blake Bosch and Brenden Montgomery @11:37) cleaned up the rebound beating Crusaders (starting) goaltender Zac Klassen to open the scoring. Brett Van Os (assists to Ben Sowa and Cole Gammer @16:24) blasted a shot from the point that would get through Storm (starting) goaltender Liam McLeod. Shots favored the Crusaders 10-9.
The Storm would score the lone goal in the second on the power play. Stefen Seel (assists to Ben Assad and Karl El-Mir @6:30) ripped a one-timer past Klassen. Shots were even 9-9 in the second and favored the Crusaders 19-18 in the hockey game.
The Crusaders would get a pair of goals in the third. Cole Gammer (assist to Stephen Shmoorkoff @0:29) redirected a shot past McLeod. Ryan Kruper (assists to Dane Phaneuf and Chase Torontow @4:47) would tip the shot past McLeod to take a 3-2 lead. Shots were even 8-8 in the third and favored the Crusaders 27-26 overall.
The Crusaders will travel to Fort McMurray for round one on March 5th while the Storm won't play until September.

Lloydminster Bobcats (31-20-8) @ Fort McMurray Oil Barons (31-22-6)
(Season series Oil Barons lead 3-2) (Streaks Bobcats lost 1, Oil Barons won 1)
Taylor Allan had a hat trick as the Bobcats doubled up the Oil Barons 4-2.
The Bobcats would get the lone goal in the first. Taylor Allan (assists to Taylor Mulder and Austin Yaremchuk @9:57) on a scramble in front of the net would get the third shot past Oil Barons (starting) goaltender Zach Fortin. Shots favored the Bobcats 14-5.
The two teams would exchange a pair of goals in the second. Taylor Allan (assists to Troy Van Tetering and Cole Josefchak @7:09) deflected his second of the night past Fortin. Shawn Weber (assists to Brett Doiron and Zach Wittenburg @11:02) deflected the puck with his body past Bobcats (starting) goaltender Devin Green. Kevin Darrar (assists to Bryce Woodward and Allan MacPherson @14:32) from the slot wristed a shot past the blocker hand of Fortin. Trent Lofthouse (assists to Mark Drohan and Jetlan Houcher @15:36) would take advantage of a friendly bounce off the boards to get within one. Shots favored the Bobcats 14-5 in the second and 28-10 in the hockey game.
The Bobcats would get the lone goal in the third. Taylor Allan (assist to Zac Giroux @12:36) would complete the hat trick from the left faceoff circle as he would wrist a shot short side on Fortin. Shots favored the Oil Barons 8-7 in the third but were 35-18 in favor of the Bobcats overall.
Both teams will be in action on March 5th. The Bobcats will host Whitecourt while the Oil Barons will host Sherwood Park

Still lots to be decided for the post season as 14 teams took to the ice on the second last day of the regular season.

Okotoks Oilers (37-15-6) @ Brooks Bandits (41-13-4)
(Season series Bandits lead 5-0) (Streaks Oilers 4-0-1, Bandits 4-0-2)
Mark Logan scored twice as the Bandits topped the Oilers 5-1.
The Bandits would out score the Oilers 2-1 in the opening period. Mitch Collett (assists to Rhett Gardner and Connor Chambers @4:22) would capitalize on a juicy rebound in the slot beating Bandits (starting) goaltender Josh Davies. The Bandits would then score a pair of power play goals. Jared Cockrell (assists to Chase Clayton and Shane Bear @6:17) stepped across the line and wristed a shot over the blocker of Oilers (starting) goaltender Nic Renyard. Chase Clayton (assists to Anthony Paskaruk and Austin Plevy @17:31) took a drop pass and wired a shot over the blocker of Renyard. Shots favored the Bandits 10-8.
The Bandits would get a pair of special team goals in the second. Shorthanded Anthony Paskaruk (unassisted @1:23)  would drive to the front of the net and shovel the puck five-hole on Renyard. The Bandits added to their lead on the power play. Mark Logan (assists to Cale Makar and Kyler Nachtigall @7:09) would jam away at the loose puck and poke it into the back of the goal. Shots favored the Bandits 21-11 in the second and 31-19 in the hockey game.
The Bandits would finish off the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the third. Mark Logan (assist to Chase Clayton @16:29) on a breakaway would squeeze a shot through the pads of Renyard. Shots favored the Bandits 14-7 in the third and 45-26 overall.
Both teams will finish off the regular season on February 28th. The Oilers will host the Calgary Canucks while the Bandits will host the Calgary Mustangs.

Olds Grizzlys (23-26-9) @ Canmore Eagles (26-31-2)
(Season series Grizzlys lead 3-2) (Streaks Grizzlys lost 3, Eagles won 1)
Ryley Risling scored twice and added an assist as the Eagles defeated the Grizzlys 8-3.
The Eagles would get the only two goals in the opening frame. Matt Forchuk (assists to Lane Olson and Connor Wilson @0:23) redirected a pass over the glove of Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Billy Gorn. Brett Radford (assists to Simon Philp and Jordan Revie @8:34) would pounce on the rebound and stuff the puck behind Gorn. Shots favored the Eagles 12-7.
Both teams would get three goals in the second. Joe Serpico (assists to Ryley Risling and Kyle Pauls @2:21) on a wrap around would flick the puck into the back of the net. Just 54 seconds later Connor Wilson (assist to Mat Forchuk @3:15) from just outside the top of the crease would backhand a shot over the shoulder of Gorn. Austin Kernahan (assists to Colton Sheen and Kyle Moore @6:36) hammered a one-timer through Eagles (starting) goaltender Ryan Ferguson. Just 17 seconds later Logan Ferguson (assist to Reid Wilson @6:53) took a centering pass and wired a shot over the shoulder of Gorn. Tyrell Mappin (assist to Christopher Gerrie @12:47) from the right faceoff circle would pick the far post. Just 22 seconds later Austin Kernahan (assists to Kirk Johnson and Colton Sheen @13:09) from his knees would sweep the puck into the net for his second of the night. Shots favored the Eagles 19-6 in the second and 31-13 in the hockey game.
The Eagles scored three goals in the third. Brett Radford (assist to Simon Philp @1:08) wrist shot snuck through the pads of Gorn. The Eagles would then get a pair of power play goals. Ryley Risling (assist to Joe Serpico @17:12) tapped a back door pass into the back of the net. Ryley Risling (assists to Connor Wilson and Jordan Revie @19:01) scored his second of the night from the top of the crease. Shots favored the Grizzlys 14-8 in the third but were 39-27 Eagles overall.
The Grizzlys will host Drayton Valley on February 28th while the Eagles will open the post season on the road.

Camrose Kodiaks (46-8-4) @ Drayton Valley Thunder (24-23-11)
(Season series Kodiaks lead 1-0) (Streaks Kodiaks 8-0-1, Thunder lost 1)
Devin McDonald made 28 saves as the Kodiaks edged the Thunder 2-1 in overtime.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the opening frame. Shots favored the Kodiaks 16-10.
The two teams would exchange second period goals. Liam Gregor (assist to Robert Cain @4:49) pounced on the rebound and beat Kodiaks (starting) goaltender Devin McDonald. On the power play, the Kodiaks would tie the game. Nelson Gadoury (assist to Dallas Bergstrom @14:52) snapped a shot over the shoulder of Thunder (starring) goaltender Marc-Olivier Daigle. Shots favored the Thunder 11-10 in the second but were 26-21 Kodiaks in the hockey game.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the third. Shots favored the Kodiaks 10-8 in the third and 36-29 after regulation.
Overtime would last just over a minute before the Kodiaks would get the victory. Spencer Kryczka (assist to Cole McBride @1:17) would bang the puck past a sprawled out Daigle. Shots favored the Kodiaks 3-0 in overtime and 39-29 overall.
Both teams will be in action on February 28th. The Kodiaks will host Drumheller while the Thunder will be in Olds.

Calgary Mustangs (20-34-4) @ Drumheller Dragons (30-21-7)
(Season series Dragons lead 4-1) (Streaks Mustangs won 1, Dragons won 2)
Dakota Zaharichuk scored twice and added an assist as the Dragons doubled up the Mustangs 6-3.
The Dragons would outscore the Mustangs 3-1 in the opening period. Dakota Zaharichuk (assist to Hunter Mills @3:18) would go backhand to forehand and slip the puck past Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Joe Mahon (assist to Adam Berg @8:29) took a centering pass and blasted a shot past Dragons (starting) goaltender Curtis Skip. Ryan Jevne (assist to Connor Boyd @9:38) redirected a centering pass behind Dattani. The Dragons would add to their lead on the power play Marcus Messier (assists to Mitchell Cook and Dakota Zaharichuk @17:07) would get the rebound and bury the puck past Dattani. Shots favored the Dragon 15-8.
The Dragons and Mustangs would exchange goals in the middle frame. Dondre Watson (assists to Vincent Paquette and Cole Threndyle @10:21) finished off a three on one blasting a shot over the shoulder of Skip. The Dragons would answer again on the power play. Hunter Mills (assists to Clint Filbrandt and Mitchell Cook @14:01) redirected a cross ice pass. Shots favored the Dragons 12-6 in the second and 27-14 in the hockey game.
The Dragons would outscore the Mustangs 2-1 in the third. Dakota Zaharichuk (assists to Connor Duncan and Hunter Mills @1:04) would get behind the Mustangs defense and jam his second of the game. Joshua McCulloch (assists to Ryan Rebelato and Bryan Huck @10:15) standing at the side of the net would poke the puck into the back of the net. Ryan Jevne (assists to Connor Boyd and Clint Filbrandt @13:39) would out wait Dattani to make it 6-3. That would spell the end of the night for Dattani, who would give up six goals on 35 shots. Shots were even 13-13 in the third and favored the Dragons 40-27 overall.
Both teams will be in action on February 28th. The Mustangs will be in Brooks while the Dragons will be in Camrose.

Sherwood Park Crusaders (26-25-7) @ Grande Prairie Storm (15-39-4)
(Season series Crusaders lead 3-1) (Streaks Crusaders lost 2, Storm 0-9-1)
Zac Klassen turned away all 29 shots as the Crusaders shutout the Storm 5-0.
The Crusaders would score the lone two goals in the opening frame. Ryan Kruper (assists to Tyler Maltby and Arthur Gordon @1:36) held the puck on a two on one and snapped a wrist shot past Storm (starting) goaltender Liam McLeod. Evan Bowden (assists to Lane Zablocki and Dane Phaneuf @3:04) blasted a shot from the point that would get through McLeod. Shots favored the Storm 9-7.
The Crusaders would add to their lead with the lone goal in the second. Tyler Maltby (assist to Arthur Gordon @9:09) from just inside the blue line would blast a shot over the blocker of McLeod.  Shots favored the Storm 13-6 in the second and 22-13 in the hockey game.
The Crusaders would score twice in the third. Lane Zablocki (assists to Dane Phaneuf and Chase Torontow @3:38) walked into the Storm zone and ripped a shot over the blocker of McLeod. Arthur Gordon (assists to Tyler Maltby and Ryan Kruper @17:24) cleaned up the rebound to make it 5-0. Shots favored the Storm 7-6 in the third and 29-19 overall.
The Crusaders and Storm will finish off the regular season on February 28th in Grande Prairie.

Bonnyville Pontiacs (29-19-10) @ Whitecourt Wolverines (23-28-8)
(Season series Pontiacs lead 3-2) (Streaks Pontiacs 9-0-4, Wolverines lost 1)
Jared Rathjen made 39 saves as the Wolverines edged the Pontiacs 2-1 in a shootout.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the opening frame. Shots favored the Pontiacs 11-5 in the first.
The Pontiacs would get the lone goal in the second. Kyler Hehn (assists to Evan Warmington and Dillan McCombie @16:11) would beat Wolverines (starting) goaltender Jared Rathjen on the rebound. Shots favored the Pontiacs 20-9 in the second and 31-14 in the hockey game.
The Wolverines would get the lone goal in the third to send the game to overtime. Erik Pedersen (assists to John Mullally and Trace Elson @0:24) from a sharp angle would pick the short side on Pontiacs (starting) goaltender Troy Trombley. Shots favored the Wolverines 11-7 in the third but were 38-25 Pontiacs.
Overtime would settle nothing, and it was off to a shootout. Shots favored the Wolverines 5-2 in overtime but were 40-30 Pontiacs overall.
Shootout round 1: Luke Mahura (Wolverines) would be stopped while Ryan Black (Pontiacs) missed the net. Round 2: John Mullally (Wolverines) snapped the puck five-hole on Trombley while Bobby McMann (Pontiacs) would miss the net. Round 3: Trace Elson (Wolverines) missed the net while Rathjen would stop Braiden Doucette (Pontiacs).
The Pontiacs will be in Spruce Grove on February 28th while the Wolverines will be on the road to open up the post season.

Zach Fortin made all 35 saves as the Oil Barons shutout the Bobcats 3-0.
The Oil Barons would get the lone goal in the first on the power play. Zach Wittenburg (assists to Trent Lofthouse and Jetlan Houcher @4:57) from the top of the slot would snap a shot under the blocker of Bobcats (starting) goaltender Devin Green. Shots favored the Bobcats 12-6.
The Oil Barons would get another power play goal in the second to double their lead. Trent Lofthouse (assists to Zach Wittenburg and Jetlan Houcher @5:33) made no mistake on the rebound to make it 2-0. Shots were even 11-11 in the second and favored the Bobcats 23-17 in the hockey game.
The Oil Barons would score into an empty net to finish off the scoring. Trent Lofthouse (unassisted @19:08) from center ice would put the puck into the open cage. Shots favored the Bobcats 12-8 in the third and 35-25 overall.
The Bobcats and Oil Barons will cap off the regular season on February 28th in Fort McMurray.

On the third last day of the regular season, four teams hit the ice.

Canmore Eagles (25-31-2) @ Calgary Canucks (17-33-8)
(Season series Eagles lead 5-0) (Streaks Eagles lost 2 Canucks 0-1-1)
Ryan Ferguson made 28 saves as the Eagles edged the Canucks 3-2 in overtime.
The Canucks would get the lone goal in the first. Cade Owad (assists to Bryson Gore and Josh Betinol @9:16) walked in front of the net and would beat Eagles (starting) goaltender Ryan Ferguson over the shoulder. Shots favored the Canucks 10-8.
The Eagles would get two late goals in the second to take a 2-1 lead. Ryley Risling (assists to Kyle Pauls and Joe Serpico @16:38) redirected the puck past Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper. Simon Philp (assists to Brett Radford and Jordan Revie @19:36) would clean up the rebound, sweeping the puck past Cooper. Shots favored the Eagles 15-9 in the period and 23-19 in the hockey game.
The Canucks would get the lone goal in the third to send the game to overtime. Spruce Grove Saints (47-6-5) @ Drayton Valley Thunder (24-22-11)

Jarid Hauptman scored twice as the Saints topped the Thunder 5-2.
The Saints would jump out to a 3-0 lead in the opening frame. Cole Nicholson (assist to Brendan Holterhus @5:06) snapped a wrist shot five-hole on Thunder (starting) goaltender Marc-Olivier Daigle. Jarid Hauptman (assists to Paul Lovsin and Isaac Farrah @11:19) would put the puck top shelf over a down and out Daigle. Carson Samoridny (assist to Tyler Busch @18:29) on a partial breakaway danced through the Thunder defense and wired a wrist shot over the blocker of Daigle. Shots favored the Saints 15-7.
The Thunder would get the lone goal on the power play in the second. Brett Smythe (assists to Jamie Waddington and Jeff Rose @9:17) would take advantage of a friendly bounce off the end boards beating Saints (starting) goaltender Matthew Murray. Shots favored the Saints 10-9 in the second and 25-16 in the hockey game.
The Saints would outscore the Thunder 2-1 in the third. Right off the draw Brendan Holterhus (assist to Connor James @4:24) skated to the front of the net and flipped the puck over Daigle. Jarid Hauptman (assists to Isaac Farrah and Connor James @9:11) would pick the top shelf for his second of the night to make it 5-1. The Thunder would get that goal back on the power play. Hayden Dawes (assists to Alex Brewer and Brayden Harris @17:29) redirected a point shot over the shoulder of Murray. Shots favored the Saints 11-6 in the third and 36-22 overall.

The last week of the regular season opened with a pair of games on Tuesday night.

Olds Grizzlys (23-25-9) @ Camrose Kodiaks (45-8-4)
(Season series Kodiaks lead 3-2) (Streaks: Grizzlys lost 2, Kodiaks 7-0-1)
Cam Gotaas and Danton Davis each had a goal and two assists as the Kodiaks doubled up the Grizzlys 8-4.
The Grizzlys got off to a strong start with three power play goals in the first. Kodi Schwarz (assists to BJ Duffin and Christopher Gerrie @11:36) snapped a one-timer past Kodiaks (starting) goaltender Reid Kilburn. Kyle Moore (assists to Kirk Johnson and Colton Sheen @14:45) standing at the top of the crease would jam the puck between the pads of Kilburn. Austin Kernahan (assist to Kyle Moore @19:31) driving to the front of the net would poke the puck past Kilburn. That would spell the end of the night for Kilburn, who would give up three goals on nine shots. Shots favored the Grizzlys 9-8.
The Kodiaks would answer with four goals in the second to take a 4-3 lead. Adam deChamplain (assists to Nelson Gadoury and Danton Davis @9:37) from the top of the slot would wire a wrist shot over the blocker of Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Billy Gorn. Just 11 seconds later Cam Gotaas (assist to Brett Njaa @9:48) broke in on the right side and put a shot towards the net that would handcuff Gorn. On the power play, the Kodiaks would tie the game. Trevor Costello (assists to Braeden Salverda and Tanner Younghans @14:05) would pick up the loose puck at the top of the crease and slide the puck into the net. Cole McBride (assist to Braeden Salverda @18:21) pounced on the rebound and shoveled the puck past Gorn. Shots favored the Kodiaks 19-9 in the period and 27-18 in the hockey game.
The Kodiaks would get four more in the third to defeat the Grizzlys 8-4. Ryker Leer (assist to Cole McBride @1:06) finished off a two on one going forehand to backhand. Cale Brown (assist to James Gaume @9:22) chipped a shot over the shoulder of Kodiaks (backup) goaltender Devin McDonald. Brett Njaa (assists to Danton Davis and Cam Gotaas @10:50) from just inside the left faceoff circle wristed a shot over the glove of Gorn. Danton Davis (assist to Spencer Kryczka @12:30) snapped a shot over the glove of Gorn to make it 7-4. The Kodiaks would finish off the scoring on the power play. Dallas Bergstrom (assist to Cam Gotaas @16:00) blasted a shot from the right point. Shots favored the Kodiaks 14-9 in the third and 41-27 overall.
Both teams will be in action on February 27th. The Grizzlys will be in Canmore while the Kodiaks will be in Drayton Valley.

Okotoks Oilers (37-15-5) @ Calgary Mustangs (19-34-4)
(Season series Oilers lead 3-2) (Streaks: Oilers won 4, Mustangs lost 2)
Jared Virtanen and Vincent Paquette each scored once and added a pair of assists as the Mustangs edged the Oilers 5-4 in overtime.
The two teams would exchange first period goals. The Oilers would open the scoring on the power play. Tanner  Ockey (assists to Trey Degraaf and Connor Chambers @1:44) would wrist a shot over the glove of Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Just 38 seconds later Jared Virtanen (assists to Vincent Paquette and Dondre Watson @2:22) would knock the puck out of the air over the glove of Oilers (starting) goaltender Riley Morris. The Oilers would retake the lead on the power play. Trey Degraaf (assists to Stephen Doane and Phelan Shaw @8:48) from the slot would wrist a shot that squeaked through Dattani. Brad Forrest, (assists to Joe Mahon and Kurtis Rutledge @13:20) point shot, would deflect over the shoulder of Morris. Shots favored the Oilers 15-7.
The Oilers would get the lone two goals in the second to take a 4-2. On the power play, the Oilers would retake the lead. Trey Degraaf (assists to Tanner Ockey and Carson Beers @8:32) would sweep his second of the night past Dattani. Frankie Spellman (assists to Kyle Messervey and Connor Chambers @11:28) would blast a one-timer from just inside the blue line over the glove of Dattani. Shots favored the Oilers 12-10 in the second and 27-17 in the hockey game.
The Mustangs would score twice to send the game to overtime. Dondre Watson (assists to Jared Virtanen and Vincent Paquette @3:14) finished off a cross crease pass to pull the Mustangs within one. Vincent Paquette (assists to Cole Threndyle and Joe Mahon @5:01) swept the loose puck between the pads of Morris to tie the game. Shots were 8-7 Mustangs in the third but were 34-25 Oilers after regulation.
Overtime would nearly go the distance before the Mustangs would win it. Mason Mitchell (assists to Brad Forrest and Jared Virtanen @4:17) took a centering pass and snapped the puck five-hole on Morris. Shots favored the Oilers 3-1 in overtime and 37-26 overall.
Both teams will be back in action on February 27th. The Oilers will be in Brooks while the Mustangs will be in Drumheller.

Colin Cooper made 44 saves as the Canucks edged the Mustangs 3-2.
The Canucks would outscore the Mustangs 2-1 in the opening frame. Matt Rypien (assists to Quinton Roberts and Sean Davies @11:00) redirected a point shot over the shoulder of Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. On the power play, the Canucks would add to their lead. Chandler Irvin (assists to Chase McMurphy and Trent Geiger @14:25) from the top of the slot would wrist a shot over the blocker of Dattani. The Mustangs would answer on the power play. Adam Berg (assists to Mason Mitchell and Brad Forrest @17:09) would clean up the rebound beating Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper. Shots favored the Mustangs 12-7.
The Mustangs would get the lone goal in the second to tie the game. Anthony Orubor (assists to Scott Salberg and Cole Threndyle @6:25) would connect on a backdoor feed beating Cooper. Shots favored the Mustangs 16-14 in the second and 28-21 in the hockey game.
The Canucks would get the lone goal in the third period. Trent Geiger (assist to Nolan Carothers @7:15) would chip the rebound past Dattani to make it 3-2. Shots favored the Mustangs 18-15 in the third 46-36.
The Mustangs will host Okotoks on February 24th while the Canucks will be in Brooks on February 20th.

A busy week continues with one game on tap on Wednesday night.

Fort McMurray Oil Barons (29-21-5) @ Whitecourt Wolverines (22-26-7)
(Season series Wolverines lead 3-2) (Streaks: Oil Barons won 2, Wolverines 0-1-1)
Adam Durkee scored twice as the Oil Barons edged the Wolverines 4-3 in overtime.
The Wolverines would score the lone goal in the first frame. Trace Elson (assists to John Mullally and Erik Pedersen @4:49) fired a shot over the blocker of Oil Barons (starting) goaltender Zach Fortin. Shots favored the Wolverines 12-7.
The Wolverines would double their lead in the second. Joseph Nardi (assists to Nathan Bizeau and Lance Yaremchuk @1:15) made no mistake on a cross ice pass to make it 2-0. Romano Morrison (assists to Lance Yaremchuk and Dallas Hines @15:13) finished off a three on two snapping a shot past Fortin. The Oil Barons would get on the board on the power play. Logan Franz (assists to Jetlan Houcher and Brett McNeil @18:05) would redirect a pass behind Wolverines (starting) goaltender Tanner McCorriston. Shots favored the Wolverines 14-7 in the period and 26-14 in the hockey game.
The Oil Barons would score twice in the third to tie the game.  On the power play, the Oil Barons would get within one. Adam Durkee (assist to Will Tomchuk @4:44) would jam the puck past McCorriston. Austin Holmes (assists to Logan Franz and Mitchell Vanderlaan @15:36) redirected a centering pass to tie the game 3-3. Shots favored the Oil Barons 10-4 in the third and 30-24 after regulation.

Jetlan Houcher scored twice and added an assist as the Oil Barons defeated the Storm 5-1.
The Oil Barons would outscore the Storm 2-1 in the opening frame. From the left corner Zach McNeill (assist to Shawn Weber @2:37) would bounce the puck off Storm (starting) goaltender Liam McLeod. Mitchell Vanderlaan (assists to Jetlan Houcher and Trent Lofthouse @13:04) one-timed a shot at the side of the goal to make it 2-0. Dustin Gorgi (assists to Stefen Seel and Brett Roberts @18:01) blasted a shot from the left faceoff circle that would get past Oil Barons (starting) goaltender Bret Lewchuk. Shots favored the Storm 11-8.
Fort McMuray would get the lone goal in the second to extend their lead. Jetlan Houcher (assist to Logan Franz @0:37) would turn and fire a shot over the glove of McLeod. Shots favored the Oil Barons 10-6 in the second and 18-17 in the hockey game.
The Oil Barons would get the only two goals in the third. While shorthanded the Oil Barons would add to their lead as Jetlan Houcher (assist to Landon Welykolowa @2:33) would drive a one-timer past McLeod. Landon Welykholowa (unassisted @5:11) would backhand a shot over the shoulder of McLeod.  Shots were even 7-7 in the period and were 25-24 Oil Barons overall.
The Oil Barons will be in Whitecourt on February 18th while the Storm will be in Lloydminster on February 20th.

A busy family day in the AJHL that had 12 teams hitting the ice.

Calgary Mustangs (19-32-4) @ Camrose Kodiaks (43-8-3)
(Season series Kodiaks lead 4-1) (Streaks: Mustangs 6-0-1, Kodiaks won 5)
Nelson Gadoury scored twice and added two assists as the Kodiaks defeated the Mustangs 6-1.
The Kodiaks would get off to a quick start scoring four times in the opening frame. Right off the faceoff Brett Njaa (assist to Cam Gotaas @1:58) would snap a shot five-hole on Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Cole McBride (assist to Nelson Gadoury @7:34) would pick up the loose puck and wrist a shot over the shoulder of Dattani to make it 2-0. Nelson Gadoury (assist Dallas Bergstrom @11:42) would tip the puck past the blocker of Dattani. Just 54 seconds later Landon Pilger (assists to Jody Sick and Spencer Kryczka @12:36) would take a cross-crease pass and redirect the puck into the net to make it 4-0.Shots favored the Kodiaks 21-4.
The Mustangs would get the lone goal in the second. Vincent Paquette (assist to Brad Forrest @4:34) on a breakaway would backhand the puck past Kodiaks (starting) goaltender Devin McDonald. Shots favored the Kodiaks 13-6 in the period and 34-10 in the hockey game.
The Kodiaks would add two more goals in the third to earn a 6-1 victory. While shorthanded Ryker Leer (assist to Nelson Gadoury @7:15) would finish off a two on one redirecting the puck past Dattani. Nelson Gadoury (assist to Valik Chichkin @12:09) blasted a one-timer over the glove of Dattani to make it 6-1 Kodiaks. Shots favored the Kodiaks 10-9 in the third and 44-19 overall.
The Mustangs will take on the Calgary Canucks on February 19th while the Kodiaks will be in Canmore on February 20th.

Drumheller Dragons (28-20-7) @ Canmore Eagles (24-29-2)
(Season series Dragons lead 3-2) (Streaks: Dragons lost 3, Eagles lost 1)
Lane Olson and Connor Wilson would each score once and add an assist as the Eagles defeated the Dragons 5-3.
The Eagles would get three first period goals. Lane Olson (assist to Jakob Lavoie @3:41) stepped across the line and wristed a shot past the blocker of Dragons (starting) goaltender Curtis Skip. Simon Philp (assists to Nikolas Kosman and Logan Ferguson @5:30) made no mistake on a backdoor feed to make it 2-0. On the power play, the Eagles would make it 3-0. Joe Serpico (assists to Connor Wilson and Nikolas Kosman @16:47) deflects a shot from the point that would sneak through the pads of Skip. Shots favored the Eagles 16-6.
The Dragons would trim the lead outscoring the Eagles 2-1. Rory Davidson (assist to Wyatt Noskey @2:38) blasted a shot from the point over the glove of Eagles (starting) goaltender Ryan Ferguson. Connor Wilson (assists to Lane Olson and Matt Forchuk @8:40) jammed the puck behind Skip. On the power play, the Dragons would get within two. Mitchell Cook (assists to Clint Filbrandt and Jacob Schofield @19:58) would jam the rebound past Ferguson. Shots favored the Dragons 16-7 in the second but were 23-22 Eagles after two.
Both teams would turn on the red light in the third. Keaton Holinaty (assists to Jacob Schofield and Craig Ofner @2:56) on a breakaway would backhand the puck top shelf. Jordan Revie (unassisted @19:59) ripped the puck into the empty net. Shots would be even 10-10 in the third and favored the Eagles 33-32 overall.
Both teams will be back in action on February 20th. The Dragons will host Whitecourt while the Eagles will host Camrose.

Brandon Biro and Parker Mackay each had a goal and an assist as the Saints doubled up the Crusaders 4-2.
The Saints would get the only two goals in the first. Brandon Biro (assists to Parker Mackay and Josh Harris @1:25) put the puck on goal, and it floated past Crusaders (stating) goaltender Zac Klassen. On the power play, the Saints would double their lead. Jordan Thomas (assist to Jarid Hauptman @15:58) snapped a shot over the shoulder of Klassen. Shots favored the Saints 12-1.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the second. On the power play the Saints would take a 3-0 lead. Carson Samoridny (assists to Josh Harris and Brandon Biro @4:29) blasted a shot from the point over the blocker of Klassen. Cole Gammer (assists to Lane Zablocki and Ty Readman @5:47) from the left faceoff circle snapped a shot over the glove of Saints (starting) goaltender Brett Zarowny. Shots favored the Saints 19-5 in the second and 31-6 in the hockey game.
Both teams would find the back of the net the third. Cameron Brezinski (assists to Stephen Shmoorkoff and Dane Phaneuf @4:45) would drive to the net and flick the puck past Zarowny. Parker Mackay (assists to Jarid Hauptman and Tristan Sieben @15:51) capitalized on the rebound to restore the two goal lead for the Saints. Shots favored the Crusaders 9-5 in the third but were 36-15 Saints overall.

Kyle Moore scored twice and added a pair of assists as the Grizzlys edged the Bandits 6-5.
The Grizzlys would score the only goal in the first. Cale Brown (unassisted @10:17) had his centering pass come right back to him and wristed a shot past Bandits (starting) goaltender Josh Davies. Shots favored the Grizzlys 15-10.
The Grizzlys would double their lead in the second. Very early in the second Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Jesse Gordichuk would suffer a wrist injury and left the game. The Bandits would tie the game on the power play. Austin Plevy (assists to Shane Bear and Anthony Paskaruk @8:30) on the rebound stuffed the puck past Grizzlys (backup) goaltender Zane Steeves. The Grizzlys would get that goal back on their power play. Kyle Moore (assists to James Miller and Austin Kernahan @11:33) would knock the puck out of the air and into the back of the net. Austin Kernahan (assists to Colton Sheen and Jack Goranson @14:12) breaking in on the left wing boards would wrist a shot past Davies. Shots favored the Bandits 12-10 in the second and were 25-22 Grizzlys after two.
The Bandits would tie the game and force overtime. Cale Makar (assist to Madison Dunn @4:20) walked from the point and snapped a shot over the blocker of Steeves. Anthony Paskaruk (unassisted @5:48) would poke his rebound past Steeves to tie the game. The Grizzlys would retake the lead on the power play. Kyle Moore (assist to Jack Goranson @13:25) would redirect a point shot through Davies. A minute later Alex Roberts (assists to Mark Logan and Cale Makar @14:25) would drive to the net on the left side and flick the puck past Steeves. Derek Lodermeier (assists to Reece Soukoroff and Cale Makar @17:20) quickly fired a one-timer past Steeves to give the Bandits their first lead of the night. Colton Sheen (assists to Kyle Moore and Austin Kernahan @19:46) was left all alone in the slot and would go bar down to tie the game at 5-5. Shots favored the Bandits 18-10 in the third and 40-35 after regulation.
Overtime would last just 36 seconds before the Grizzlys would get the winner. Tyrell Mappin (assists to Christopher Gerrie and Zane Steeves @0:36) would weave his way through the Bandits and snap a shot past Davies blocker. Shots were 1-0 Grizzlys in overtime but were40-36 overall.
Both teams will be in action on February 20th. The Grizzlys will host Okotoks while the Bandits will host the Calgary Canucks.

Jacob Wachowicz (assists to Liam Gregor and Derek Willson @1:15) shot from the point would find a way through Wolverines (starting) goaltender Tanner McCorriston. On the power play, the Wolverines would tie the game. Lance Yaremchuk (assist to Justin Young and Joseph Nardi @14:54) from the slot would snap a shot over the glove of Thunder (starting) goaltender Marc-Olivier Daigle. Jamie Waddington (assist to Brett Smythe @17:44) on the rebound would restore the Thunder lead. Shots favored the Thunder 18-10.
The Thunder would add to their lead, outscoring the Wolverines 3-1. Brett Smythe (unassisted @0:25) would stuff the puck in on the wrap around. That would spell the end of the night for McCorriston, who would give up three goals on 19 shots. Just 17 seconds later John Mullally (assists to Jordan Davies and Trace Elson @0:42) completed a two on one to make it 3-2 Thunder. A wild third period saw the Wolverines outscore the Thunder 5-2 to force overtime. On the power play, the Wolverines would get within two. Just 14 seconds later Lance Yaremchuk (assist to Joseph Nardi @4:24) would clean up the rebound to get the Wolverines within one. Just 48 seconds after that Trace Elson (assists to John Mullally and Nathan Bizeau @5:12) would get three whacks at the puck before poking the puck into the net to tie the game. On the power play, the Thunder would regain the lead. Jacob Wachowicz (assists to Ty Bettac and Noah Kieser @7:44) shot from the point would get past Rathjen. Bryson Traptow (assists to Morgan Messenger and Jordan Davies @9:32) blasts a shot past Daigle to tie the game 6-6. Justin Young (assists to Joseph Nardi and Jared Freadrich @12:38) poked the puck into the back of the net to give the Wolverines their first lead of the night. Jamie Waddington (assist to Brett Smythe @19:02) would crash the front of the net and jam the puck in to tie the game 7-7. Shots favored the Wolverines 21-8 in the third and 41-38 after regulation.
The Thunder would score the winner late in overtime. Brett Smythe (assist to Matt Benko @3:55) snapped a shot from the right faceoff circle past the blocker of Rathjen. Shots favored the Thunder 2-1 in overtime but were 42-40 Wolverines overall.

Just two games took place on Sunday afternoon in the AJHL.

Calgary Canucks (16-30-7) @ Bonnyville Pontiacs (26-19-10)
(Season series Pontiacs lead 1-0) (Streaks: Canucks 0-1-1, Pontiacs 6-0-4)
Ryan Piche scored twice as the Pontiacs defeated the Canucks 5-3.
The Canucks would score twice late in the first to take a 2-1 lead. Ryan Piche (assists to Kyler Hehn and Gen Bryshun @6:40) finished off a three on two beating Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper. Chandler Irvin (assists to Trent Geiger and Matteo Milroy @12:41) would jam the rebound past Pontiacs (starting) goaltender Joey Desrosiers. Just 6 seconds later Michael Clarke (assist to Josh Betinol @12:47) off the faceoff would flick the puck over Desrosiers glove. Shots favored the Pontiacs 19-16.
Both teams would find the back of the net once in the second. On the power play, the Canucks would add to their lead. Chandler Irvin (assists to Mark Nerland and Tyler Benko @16:25) snapped his second of the day top shelf. Kyler Hehn (assists to Erik Donald and Cory Santoro @17:45) on a backdoor feed would wire the puck past Cooper. Shots favored the Pontiacs 12-8 in the second and 31-24 in the hockey game.
The Pontiacs would score three times in the final frame. Bobby McMann (assists to Kyler Hehn and Brinson Pasichnuk @12:06) would redirect a centering pass past Cooper to tie the game. Ryan Piche (assists to Evan Warmington and Erik Donald @13:20) would score his second of the day from the left faceoff circle beating Cooper five-hole. Alden Dupuis (assist to Steenn Pasichnuk @19:04) would fire the puck into the empty net.  Shots were even 11-11 in the third but favored the Pontiacs 42-35 overall.
The Canucks will be in Okotoks on February 16th while the Pontiacs will be in Spruce Grove on February 20th.

Grande Prairie Storm (15-35-4) @ Sherwood Park Crusaders (25-23-7)
(Season series Crusaders lead 2-1) (Streaks: Storm lost 6, Crusaders lost 2)
Arthur Gordon scored once and added an assist as the Crusaders edged the Storm 3-2.
The Crusaders would get a pair of goals in the opening frame. Lane Zablocki (assist to Ryan Kruper @9:58) would jam the rebound past Storm (starting) goaltender Liam McLeod. On the power play, the Crusaders would add to their lead. Arthur Gordon (assist to Ryan Kruper @14:06) would hammer a one-timer over the glove of McLeod. Shots favored the Crusaders 14-6.
The Storm would get the lone goal in the second. Ty Lindberg (assists to Jarred Toole and Tristan Crozier @7:03) wrist shot from the point would get past Crusaders (starting) goaltender Zac Klassen. Shots favored the Crusaders 10-4 in the second and 24-10 in the hockey game.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the third. Evan Bowden (assist to Arthur Gordon @5:32) would squeak a shot five-hole on McLeod. Blake Bosch (assist to Ben Assad @11:56) would poke the puck past Klassen and into the back of the net. Shots favored the Storm 14-10 in the third but were 34-24 Crusaders overall.
The Storm will host Fort McMurray on February 17th while the Crusaders will be in Spruce Grove on September 16th.

There is no love lost between the 12 teams that will be in action tonight.

Calgary Mustangs (18-32-4) @ Canmore Eagles (24-28-2)
(Season series Eagles lead 5-0) (Streaks: Mustangs 5-0-1, Eagles won 1)
Jared Virtanen scored twice as the Mustangs defeated the Eagles 5-3.
The Eagles would get the lone goal in the first. Joe Serpico (assists to Jordan Revie and Simon Philp @7:23) from the left faceoff circle would wire a shot over the glove of Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Shots favored the Eagles 11-6.
The Mustangs would score three times in the second. On the power play, the Mustangs would tie the game. Jared Virtanen (assists to Mason Mitchell and Adam Berg @11:47) would cut through the crease and flick the puck past Eagles (starting) goaltender Ryan Ferguson. Vincent Paquette (assists to Dondre Watson and Darian Skeoch @14:01) finished off a two on one to give the Mustangs the lead. Dondre Watson (assists to Vincent Paquette and Jordan Xavier @19:51) redirected a centering pass behind Ferguson. Shots favored the Mustangs 13-11 in the second but were 22-19 Eagles after two.
Both teams would find the back of the net twice in the third. Connor Wilson (assists to Ryley Risling and Matt Forchuk @2:11) would pounce on the rebound to cut into the Mustangs lead. Just 49 seconds later Jared Virtanen (assist to Spencer Johnstone @2:50) would get his second of the night when the puck bounced off his shoulder and into the net. The Eagles would answer on the power play. A mere 49 seconds later Jordan Revie (assists to Connor Wilson and Joe Serpico @3:39) shot from the point would find a way through traffic to beat Dattani. Bryan Huck (assists to Ravi Dattani and Spencer Johnstone @16:47) on a breakaway would deke out Ferguson. Shots favored the Eagles 10-9 in the third and 32-28 overall.
Both teams will be in action on February 16th. The Mustangs will be in Camrose while the Eagles will host Drumheller.

Drumheller Dragons (28-19-7) @ Okotoks Oilers (33-15-5)
(Season series Dragons lead 3-2) (Steaks: Dragons lost 2, Oilers lost 1)
Stephen Doane scored twice as the Oilers edged the Dragons 5-4.
The Oilers would outscore the Dragons 2-1 in the first. Brody Valette (assists to Dakota Zaharichuk and Marcus Messier @1:30) one-timed a shot five-hole on Oilers (starting) goaltender Nic Renyard. The Oilers would get a pair of power play goals. Eric Krienke (assists to Rhett Gardner and Carson Beers @15:50) would tip the puck past Dragons (starting) goaltender Jonny Hogue. Tanner Ockey (assists to Eric Krienke and Trey Degraaf @19:23) would pounce on the rebound and poke the puck past Hogue to make it 2-1. Shots favored the Dragons 10-8.
The Oilers would add to their lead outscoring the Dragons 3-1 in the second. Stephen Doane (assists to Rhett Gardner and Nolan Thompson @2:10) had the puck bounce off his stick and into the back of the net. On the power play, the Dragons would get within one. Jacob Schofield (assists to Mitchell Cook and Ryan Suchorab @11:08) would poke the puck five-hole to make it 3-2 Oilers. The Oilers would get that goal back on the power play. Stephen Doane (assists to Tanner Ockey and Darian Henry @12:45) would finish off a two on one for his second of the night. While shorthanded Matt McNair (unassisted @13:51) off the turnover would backhand the puck past Hogue. Shots favored the Oilers 12-8 in the period and 20-18 in the hockey game.
The Dragons would score twice but couldn't find a way to tie the game. On the power play, the Dragons would trim the Oilers lead to two. Dakota Zaharichuk (assists to Hunter Mills and Tristan Thompson @4:25) chopped the rebound past Renyard for his second of the night. Jacob Schofield (assist to Mitchell Cook @18:12) would get his second of the night on a rebound. Shots favored the Dragons 16-5 in the third and 34-25 overall.
Both teams will return to the ice on February 16th. The Dragons will be in Canmore while the Oilers will host the Calgary Canucks.

Lloydminster Bobcats (28-19-8) @ Whitecourt Wolverines (22-25-6)

Shane Switzer had a goal and two assists as the Bobcats edged the Wolverines 4-3.
The Bobcats would get the lone goal in the opening frame on the power play. Troy Van Tetering (assists to Shane Switzer and Brett Everson @16:34) would redirect the puck past Wolverines (starting) goaltender Jared Rathjen. Shots favored the Bobcats 11-10.
The Wolverines would tie the game in the second. On the power play, the Wolverines would even the game. Lance Yaremchuk (assists to Gordie Ballhorn and Luke Mahura @3:28) would redirect a shot past Bobcats (starting) goaltender Devin Green. Zac Giroux (assists to Kevin Darrar and Ryan Hendrix @5:29) would backhand the puck past Rathjen. While shorthanded John Mullally (unassisted @10:50) would walk in and snap a shot past the blocker of Green. Just 39 seconds later Shane Switzer (assists to Patrick Geary and Kevin Darrar @11:29) from the left faceoff circle would restore the Bobcats lead. Dylan Thudium (assists Trace Elson and John Mullally @16:47) would one-time a shot from the slot over the blocker of Green. Shots favored the Wolverines 12-10 in the period and 22-21 in the hockey game.
The Bobcats would get the lone goal of the third. Brett Everson (assist to Shane Switzer @14:06) would stuff the puck in on the wrap around. Shots favored the Bobcats 13-9 in the third and 34-31 overall.
The Bobcats will host Grande Prairie on February 20th while the Wolverines will be in Drayton Valley on February 16th.

Trevor Poirier scored a hat trick as the Thunder defeated the Storm 8-5.
The Thunder would get the lone goal in the opening frame. Robert Cain (unassisted @9:26) banked a shot off a Storm defender and past (starting) goaltender Logan Thompson. Shots favored the Storm 14-10.
The Thunder would double their lead in the second. Trevor Poirier (assists to Jamie Waddington and Brett Smythe @1:34) would snap a shot from the slot over the blocker hand of Thompson. Just 28 seconds later Matt McNeil (assist to Noah Kieser @2:02) would slide the puck five-hole on Thompson. A mere 54 seconds after that Brayden Harris (assists to Jeff Rose and Braden Jakubowski @2:56) on the rebound would poke the puck past Thompson. Josh Zablocki (assists to Blake Bosch and Sheldon Hubbard @7:48) wristed a shot past Thunder (starting) goaltender Garrett Mason. The Storm would get a pair of power play goals. Stefen Seel (assist to Brenden Montgomery @12:40) tipped the point shot past Mason. Ian McLellan (unassisted @15:55) from the point would hammer a shot past Mason. While shorthanded Robert Cain (assist to Jason Miller @18:22) from the slow would snap a shot over the glove of Thompson. Shots favored the Storm 17-15 in the period and 31-25 in the hockey game.
Drayton Valley would add to their lead in the third. Matt McNeil (assist to Jeff Rose @11:38) on the rebound would tap the puck past Thompson. The Thunder would go up 7-3 on the power play. Trevor Poirier (assist to Brodie Clowes @13:51) redirected the puck past Thompson. Dustin Gorgi (unassisted @18:31) dug the puck out from the corner and put the puck bar down. Just 18 seconds later Trevor Poirier (assist to Jamie Waddington @18:49) on a breakaway would backhand the puck five-hole on Thompson.  Ian McLellan (unassisted @19:47) from the slot would wrist the puck past Mason. Shots favored the Storm 19-12 in the third and 50-37 overall.
The Storm will be in Sherwood Park on February 15th while the Thunder will host Whitecourt February 16th.

Brooks Bandits (39-13-2) @ Bonnyville Pontiacs (25-19-10)
(Season series Bandits lead 1-0) (Streaks: won 2, Pontiacs 5-0-4)
Bobby McMann had a goal and an assist as the Pontiacs edged the Bandits 4-3 in a shootout.
The two teams would exchange goals in the first. Kyler Hehn (assist to Dillan McCombie @11:37) on a breakaway would backhand the puck five-hole on Bandits (starting) goaltender Michael Fredrick. Just 17 seconds later Linden Springer (assist to Austin Plevy @11:54) snapped a shot from the right point that would get past Pontiacs (starting) goaltender Troy Trombley. Shots favored the Bandits 6-5.
The Bandits would get the lone goal in the second. Derek Lodermeier (assists to Anthony Paskaruk and Tanner Rhodes @9:20) would pounce on the rebound and poke the puck past Trombley. Shots favored the Pontiacs 11-8 in the second and 16-14 in the hockey game.
The Pontiacs would tie the game in the third. Bobby McMann (assists to Steenn Pasichnuk and Cody Fiala @1:27) redirected a centering pass five-hole on Fredrick. Linden Springer (assist to Jared Cockrell @5:58) wrist shot from the right faceoff circle would beat Tromblay. Alden Dupuis (assist to Bobby McMann @7:51) would finish off a two on one to tie the game. Shots favored the Pontiacs 17-12 in the third and 33-26 after regulation.
Overtime would solve nothing, and it was off to a shootout. Shots favored the Pontiacs 3-1 in overtime and 36-27 overall.
Shootout round 1: Bobby McMann (Pontiacs) put the shot over the glove of Fredrick while Trombley stopped Chase Clayton (Bandits). Round 2: Braiden Doucette (Pontiacs) would wrist a shot over the glove of Fredrick while Trombley would stop Austin Plevy (Bandits).
The Bandits will host Olds on February 16th while the Pontiacs will host the Calgary Canucks on February 15th.
