Two teams hit the ice to wrap up the 2014 part of the AJHL season. The Okotoks Oilers were in Drumheller to take on the Dragons for the fourth time this season (Dragons lead season series 2-1). The Oilers were looking to snap a two game losing streak while the Dragons were looking to bounce back from a 5-3 loss to Camrose on Friday night.
Okotoks Oilers (24-10-4) @ Drumheller Dragons (21-12-5)
Clint Filbrandt scored once and added two assists as the Dragons topped the Oilers 4-1.
Both teams would be able to find the back of the net in the opening frame. The Dragons would open the scoring on the power play as Connor Duncan (assists to Connor Boyd and Clint Filbrandt @9:00) would beat Oilers (starting) goaltender Nic Renyard. Just 26 seconds later Trey Degraaf (assists to Carson Beers and Jordie Lawson @9:26) would tie the game at 1-1 as he fired the puck past Dragons (starting) goaltender Jonny Hogue. Shots favored the Oilers 12-9.
The Dragons would retake the lead with a pair of goals in the middle frame. Clint Filbrandt (assist to Jarell Pinchuk @15:52) would put the puck past Renyard to give the Dragons back the lead. In the final minute of the period Mitchell Cook (assists to Clint Filbrandt and Keaton Holinaty @19:46) would get the Dragons second power play goal of the game. Shots favored the Oilers 13-7 in the period and 25-16 in the hockey game.
Drumheller would get the lone goal in the third. Keaton Holinaty (assist to Wyatt Noskey @14:28) would find the back of the net to give the Dragons a 4-1 lead. Shots favored the Oilers 16-8 in the period and 41-24 overall.
The Oilers will be in Calgary to take on the Mustangs January 6th. Drumheller will be in Brooks on January 2nd.

Four teams hit the ice for the final Sunday of the 2014 part of the season. Spruce Grove traveled northwest to take on the Whitecourt Wolverines for the fifth time this season (Saints lead season series 3-1). The Saints have won three straight while the Wolverines are trying to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to Bonnyville on Friday night. Grande Prairie continued their road trip in Calgary taking on the Mustangs for the second and final time this season (Storm lead season series 1-0). Both teams are trying to snap losing streaks; The Storm have dropped two in a row while the Mustangs have lost their last six.
Spruce Grove Saints (29-6-3) @ Whitecourt Wolverines (11-21-4)
Matthew Murray stopped 26 of 28 during regulation and all three shots in the shootout as the Saints topped the Wolverines 3-2.
The Wolverines would score the lone goal in the opening frame. Justin Young (assist to John Mullally @5:37) would pick the short side on Saints (starting) goaltender Matthew Murray. Shots were even 10-10.
The Saints would tie the game in the second with a power play goal. Jarid Hauptman (assist to Cole Nicholson @5:23) wristed a shot from the top of the slot past the blocker hand of Wolverines (starting) goaltender Tanner McCorriston. Shots favored the Saints 15-11 in the period and 25-21 in the hockey game.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the third. Morgan Messenger (assist to Justin Young @2:36) cleaned up the rebound to give the Wolverines the lead 2-1. The Saints would answer on the power play. Nicolas Correale (assist to Isaac Farrah @9:06) redirected a centering pass into the back of the net. Shots favored the Saints 16-5 in the period and 41-26 in the hockey game.
Neither team would score in overtime, and it was off to a shootout. Shots favored the Saints 4-2 in the period and 45-28 overall.
Shootout round 1: Jordan Thomas (Saints) would beat McCorriston over the glove while Mathew Murray would stop Justin Young (Wolverines). Round 2: Tyler Busch (Saints) would miss the net while Murray would stop Dylan Thudium (Wolverines). Round 3: the goaltenders would stop Riley Simpson (Saints) and John Mullally (Wolverines).
Both teams will play home games on January 2nd. The Saints will host Canmore while the Wolverines will host Lloydminster.
Grande Prairie Storm (13-24-2) @ Calgary Mustangs (8-28-3)
Joe Mahon and Kurtis Rutledge each had a goal, and an assist as the Mustangs topped the Storm 4-1.
The Mustangs would score the first two goals and lead 2-1 after one. Jordan Xavier (assists to Joshua McCulloch and Joe Mahon @5:31) Cleaned up the rebound beating Storm (starting) goaltender Liam McLeod. Kurtis Rutledge (assist to Dylan Sakatch @11:11) snuck in from the right point and blasted a one-timer past the blocker of McLeod. The Storm would get on the board with the power play. Brett Doiron (unassisted @15:30) floated a shot from the left point that would beat Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Shots favored the Storm 14-9.
The Mustangs would add to their lead with the lone goal in the middle frame. Adam Berg (assists to Jared Virtanen and Kurtis Rutledge @7:44) played give and go with Virtanen before snapping the puck into the back of the net from the slot. Shots favored the Storm 13-7 in the period and 27-16 in the hockey game.
The Mustangs would score the lone goal in the final frame to secure a 4-1 victory. Joe Mahon (assists to Joshua McCulloch and Taylor Lileikis @15:12) would be sprung on a breakaway and backhand the puck five-hole on McLeod. Shots favored the Mustangs 13-6 in the period but favored the Storm 33-29 overall.
The Storm will be in Fort McMurray on January 2nd while the Mustangs will be in Drayton Valley on January 3rd.

The Calgary Canucks hit the road to Brooks to take on the Bandits for the fourth time this season (Bandits lead season series 2-1). The Canucks are looking to build on a two game winning streak while the Bandits are looking to snap a two game slide. The Grande Prairie Storm continued their road trip in Canmore as the two teams met for the second and final time this season (Storm lead season series 1-0). The Storm are looking to bounce back from a 5-0 loss to the Canucks on Friday while the Eagles were looking o build on their 3-2 win over the Mustangs on Friday. Lloydminster continued their road trip in Olds taking on the Grizzlys for the second and final time this season (Grizzlys lead season series 1-0). The Bobcats are looking to build on their three game winning streak while the Grizzlys are looking to snap a two game slide. Okotoks will be in Spruce Grove to take on the Saints for the second and final time this season (Saints lead season series 1-0). Fort McMurray entered the game on a three game winning streak while the Kodiaks have won their last two. Bonnyville continued their road in Drayton Valley, taking on the Thunder for the fourth time this season (Pontiacs lead season series 2-1). Bonnyville is lookingĀ to build on their 4-2 victory over Whitecourt on Friday while Drayton Valley is looking to snap a 14 game slide.
Calgary Canucks (13-20-5) @ Brooks Bandits (27-9-1)
Jared Cockrell scored twice as the Bandits edged the Canucks 2-1.
The Bandits would get the only goal in the opening frame. Jared Cockrell (assists to Anthony Paskaurk and Austin Plevy @11:30) moved to the slot and snapped a shot blocker side on Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper. Shots were even 9-9.
The Canucks would get the lone goal in the second to tie the game 1-1. Michael Clarke (assists to Mark Nerland and Chandler Irvin @15:57) completed a three on one beating Bandits (stating) goaltender Michael Fredrick. Shots favored the Canucks 13-10 in the period and 22-19 in the hockey game.
The Bandits would score late in the third on the power play to earn a 2-1 victory. Jared Cockrell (assists to Chase Clayton and Austin Plevy @17:57) deflected a point shot for his second of the night. Shots favored the Bandits 7-6 in the period but favored the Canucks 28-26 overall.

Lloydminster Bobcats (23-11-5) @ Olds Grizzlys (17-14-5)
Colton Sheen scored twice as the Grizzlys edged the Bobcats 3-2.
Two late goals by the Bobcats surged them into a 2-1 lead after one. Colton Sheen (assists to Tyrell Mappin and Christopher Gerrie @4:20) blasted a one-timer over the blocker of Bobcats (starting) goaltender Devin Green. Lukas Biensch (assists to Mitchell Brennan and Cole Josefchak @14:03) from the slot would snap a shot five-hole on Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Jesse Gordichuk. Josh Giacomin (assists to Zac Giroux and Taylor Mulder @19:59) wristed a one-timer into the back of the net. Shots favored the Bobcats 17-16.
The Grizzlys would get the lone goal in the second. Sean Richards (assists to Austin Kernahan and Jordan Steenbergen @17:39) would pick the short side on Green to tie the game at 2-2. Shots favored the Grizzlys 11-10 in the period and 27-27 overall.

Jetlan Houcher (assists to Adam Durkee and Kyle Star @19:09) on a breakaway would go to the backhand and fire the puck top shelf. Shots favored the Kodiaks 13-11.

The Lloydminster Bobcats continued their road trip in Brooks for the second time this season (Bobcats lead season series 1-0). Lloydminster is looking to build off back to back shutouts of the Mustangs while the Bandits are looking to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to the Kodiaks on Sunday. The Grande Prairie Storm and Calgary Canucks met up for the third and final time this season (season series tied 1-1). The Storm are looking to build off a 6-4 win over the Crusaders on Tuesday while the Canucks were trying to build off a 7-3 win over the Grizzlys on Wednesday. The Calgary Mustangs traveled to Canmore to take on the Eagles for the third time this season (Eagles lead season series 2-0). Calgary is looking to snap a five game slide while Canmore is looking to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Drumheller on Tuesday. Fort McMurray traveled to Olds to take on the Grizzlys for the second and final time this season (Oil Barons lead season series 1-0). The Oil Barons are looking to build on a two game winning streak while the Grizzlys are looking to rebound from a 7-3 loss to the Canucks on Wednesday. Bonnyville traveled east to take on the Whitecourt Wolverines for the second time this season (Pontiacs lead season series 1-0). Two more goals from the Canucks make it 5-0 after two. Nolan Carothers (assists to Trent Geiger and Zach Dietrich @1:21) cleaned up the rebound and jammed the puck into the back of the net. Shots favored the Mustangs 13-11 in the period but favored the Eagles 24-21 in the hockey game.

Scott Ferguson (assists to TJ Brown and Adam Wheeldon @5:50) drove to the front of the net and fired a shot five-hole on Skip. Ryker Leer (assists to Jack Thomas and Cam Gotaas @19:44) cleaned up the rebound to put the Kodiaks up by two. Shots favored the Kodiaks 12-7.
The Dragons scored twice in the second to tie the game. The Dragons would get within one on the power play. Reid Nemeth (assist to Carter Czaikowski @5:34) shot from the point would handcuff McDonald. Six teams hit the ice on Thursday in the AJHL. Drumheller heads south to take on Okotoks for the third time this season (season series tied 1-1). The Dragons are looking to build on their 3-1 victory over Canmore on Tuesday while the Oilers are trying to build on their 1-0 win over the Canucks last Saturday. Sherwood Park hits the road to Drayton Valley for their fourth meeting of the season (Crusaders lead season series 2-1). Both teams are looking to snap losing streaks; The Crusaders have dropped three straight while the Thunder have lost 13 in a row. The Lloydminster Bobcats open up a five game road trip that will span over two years. The Bobcats will be in Calgary to take on the Mustangs for the second and final time this season (Bobcats lead season series 1-0). The Bobcats defeated the Mustangs 1-0 on Sunday.
Drumheller Dragons (20-11-5) @ Okotoks Oilers (24-9-3)
Tristan Thompson scored twice as the Dragons edged the Oilers 5-4 in overtime.
The Oilers would jump out to a 4-1 lead in the first. The Oilers would score three goals in 1:24 to take a 3-0 lead. Trey Degraaf (assists to Frankie Spellman and Darian Henry @3:20) wired a shot from the right faceoff circle over the glove of Dragons (starting) goaltender Jonny Hogue. Mitch Collett (assists to Matt McNair and Jordie Lawson @4:03) would take a centering pass and slide the puck five-hole on Hogue. Eric Krienke (assist to Stephen Doane @4:44) right off the faceoff circle would blast a shot over the glove of Hogue. The Dragons would get on the board on the power play. Hunter Mills (assists to Marcus Messier and Dakota Zaharichuk @15:38) would poke the puck past Oilers (starting) goaltender Nic Renyard on a goal mouth scramble. The Oilers would get that goal back on the power play. Mitch Collett (assists to Darian Henry and Kyle Krabben @17:21) put the puck towards the net, and it squeaked through the pads of Hogue for his second of the night. That would be the end of the night for Hogue, who would give up four goals on ten shots. Shots favored the Dragons 15-11.
The Dragons would get back into the game with the only two goals in the second. Jacob Schofield (assists to Rory Davidson and Wyatt Noskey @11:56) walked to the front of the net and snapped a shot under the glove of Renyard. Tristan Thompson (assists to Dakota Zaharichuk and Mitchell Cook @15:11) walked into the left faceoff circle and wired a wrist shot into the back of the net. Shots favored the Oilers 11-8 in the period but favored the Dragons 23-22 in the hockey game.
The Dragons would get the lone goal in the third to send the game to overtime. Sherwood Park Crusaders (19-17-4) @ Drayton Valley Thunder (10-18-7)
Daniel Wray scored twice as the Crusaders edged the Thunder 4-3 in a shootout.
The Crusaders would score the lone goal in the opening frame. Daniel Wray (assist to Alex Rotundo @18:55) poked the puck into the back of the net past Thunder (starting) goaltender Marc-Olivier Daigle. Shots favored the Thunder 10-8.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the middle frame. Daniel Wray (assist to Ryan Kruper @8:29) took a drop pass and tucked the puck past Daigle for his second of the night. Jamie Waddington (assists to Brett Smythe and Jason Miller @13:52) from his knees would sweep the puck five-hole on Crusaders (starting) goaltender Zac Klassen. Shots favored the Thunder 13-8 in the period and 23-16 in the hockey game.
The Thunder would score twice late in the period to tie the game and send it to overtime. Ty Readman (assists to Tyler Maltby and Cameron Brezinski @8:27) finished off a three on one firing the puck into the back of the net. With the extra attacker Trevor Poirier (assists to Brett Smythe and Jordan Taupert @18:29) redirected a cross ice pass to get the Thunder within one. Just 55 seconds later Trevor Poirier (assist to Joseph Tambasco @19:24) would score his second of the night from a bad angle to tie the game. Shots favored the Thunder 10-8 in the period and 33-24 in the hockey game.
Overtime would solve nothing, and it was off to a shootout. Shots were even 7-7 in the period and favored the Thunder 40-31 in the hockey game.
Shootout round 1: Tanner Laderoute (Crusaders) beat Daigle short side while Klassen stopped Waddington (Thunder). Round 2: Daigle would stop Ryan Kruper (Crusaders) with the glove while Brett Smythe (Thunder) would beat Klassen under the right pad. Round 3: Arthur Gordon (Crusaders) and Liam Gregor (Thunder) would both score over the goalie's right pad. Round 4: Daigle would stop Lane Zablocki (Crusaders) while Trevor Poirier (Thunder) missed the net. Round 5: the goaltenders would stop Daniel Wray (Crusaders) and Jordan Taupert (Thunder). Round 6: once again the goaltenders would stand tall stopping Cameron Brezinski (Crusaders) and Hayden Dawes (Thunder). Round 7: the goaltenders would stop Tyler Maltby (Crusaders) and Jason Miller (Thunder). Round 8: the goaltenders would stop Reid Bosse (Crusaders) and Brayden Harris (Thunder). Round 9: Ty Readman (Crusaders) hit the crossbar while Klassen would stop Matt McNeil (Thunder). Round 10: the goaltenders would stop Alex Rotundo (Crusaders) and Ty Bettac (Thunder). Round 11: Brett Van Os (Crusaders) out waited Daigle and slide the puck in while Klassen would stop Joseph Tambasco (Thunder) to earn a 3-2 shootout win for the Crusaders.
Sherwood Park won't return to action until 2015 when they host Lloydminster on January 3rd. Drayton Valley will host Bonnyville on December 20th.
Lloydminster Bobcats (21-11-5) @ Calgary Mustangs (8-26-3)
Ryan Ternes stopped all 25 shots as the Bobcats shutout the Mustangs 2-0.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the opening frame. Shots favored the Bobcats 9-6.
The Bobcats would score the lone goal in the second. Lukas Biensch (assists to Patrick Geary and Alex Pernitsky @17:09) took a centering pass and fired a shot over the shoulder of Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani. Shots favored the Bobcats 13-7 in the period and 22-13 in the hockey game.
Lloydminster would double their lead in the third. Evan Tschumi (unassisted @13:40) would be the recipient of a lucky bounce off the end glass that hit Dattani in the back and bounced in. Shots favored the Mustangs 12-5 in the period but favored the Bobcats 27-25 in the hockey game.

Just two teams were in action on Wednesday night in the AJHL. The Olds Grizzlys were in Calgary to visit the Canucks for the fifth meeting of the season (season series tied 2-2). The Grizzlys were looking to build on a two game winning streak while the Canucks were looking to snap a four game slide.
Olds Grizzlys (17-13-4) @ Calgary Canucks (11-20-5)
Chase McMurphy scored four times and added an assist to lead the Canucks to a 7-3 victory over the Grizzlys.
The Canucks would score the first three goals of the game as they held a 3-1 lead on the Grizzlys after one. Michael Clarke (assists to Mark Nerland and Chandler Irvin @7:02) would wrist a shot from the right faceoff circle over the glove of Grizzlys (starting) goaltender Billy Gorn. Just 47 seconds later Connor McCallum (assists to Chase McMurphy and Chandler Irvin @7:49) blasted a shot over the shoulder of Gorn. That would be the end of the night for Gorn, who would give up two goals on three shots. While shorthanded Chase McMurphy (assists to Nolan Carothers and Colin Cooper @15:06) would be sprung on a breakaway and fire a shot over the glove of Grizzlys (backup) goaltender Jesse Gordichuk. The Grizzlys would answer on the same power play. Just 41 seconds later Kyle Moore (assists to Jack Goranson and Tyrell Mappin @15:47) snapped a shot that would beat Canucks (starting) goaltender Colin Cooper five-hole. Shots favored the Canucks 16-10.
The Canucks would extend their lead in the second by outscoring the Grizzlys 4-1. Chase McMurphy (assists to Connor McCallum and Sean Davies @6:15) coming down the right wing would wrist a shot past Gordichuk for his second of the night. Just 21 seconds later Chase McMurphy (assist to Josh Betinol @6:36) would wire a one-timer into the back of the net to complete the hat-trick. Ten teams hit the ice on Tuesday night in the AJHL. The top two teams in the south met up in Camrose as the Bandits, and Kodiaks played for the third time this season (Kodiaks lead season series 2-0). The Kodiaks were looking to rebound from a 5-2 loss to the Grizzlys on Saturday night while the Bandits were riding a three game winning streak. The Canmore Eagles traveled to Drumheller to take on the Dragons in the third meeting of the season between the two teams (season series tied 1-1). Canmore entered the game on a two game winning streak while the Dragons were looking to bounce back from a 5-2 loss to Spruce Grove on Saturday. Sherwood Park went northwest to take on the Grande Prairie Storm in the second meeting of the season (Crusaders lead season series 1-0). Both the Storm and Crusaders were looking to snap two game slides. Drayton Valley paid a visit to the Wolverines in Whitecourt as the two teams met up for the fourth time this season (Wolverines lead season series 2-1). Drayton Valley was looking to snap a 12 game losing streak while the Wolverines were on a two game winning streak. Spruce Grove went east to take on the Bonnyville Pontiacs for the third time this season (Saints lead season series 2-0). The Saints were looking to build off a 5-2 win over the Dragons on Saturday night while the Pontiacs were trying to build off a 4-2 win over the Mustangs on Saturday.
Brooks Bandits (27-7-1) @ Camrose Kodiaks (28-4-2)
Ryker Leer and Nelson Gadoury each scored once and added an assist as the Kodiaks edged the Bandits 4-3.
The Kodiaks would outscore the Bandits 3-1 in the opening frame. Cam Gotaas (assist to Danton Davis @7:53) finished off a two on one and snapped a shot glove side on Bandits (starting) goaltender Josh Davies. Just 27 seconds later Blake Bosch (assist to Zac Befus @2:05) poked the loose puck past Crusaders (starting) goaltender Zac Klassen. Just two teams hit the ice on Sunday in the AJHL. The Calgary Mustangs finished off a northern road trip in Lloydminster. The Bobcats were looking to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to Drumheller on Friday while the Mustangs were looking to snap a thee game slide.
Calgary Mustangs (8-25-3) @ Lloydminster Bobcats (20-11-5)
Devin Green stopped all 20 shots as the Bobcats edged the Mustangs 1-0.
The Bobcats would score the lone goal in the first. Kevin Darrar (assists to Brett Everson and Cole Josefchak @6:14) snapped a shot from the slot that beat Mustangs (starting) goaltender Ravi Dattani blocker side. Shots favored the Bobcats 14-7.
Neither team was able to turn on the red light in the second. Shots favored the Bobcats 8-7 in the period and 22-14 in the hockey game.
Once again, neither team was able to find the back of the net. Shots favored the Bobcats 10-6 in the period and 32-20 in the hockey game.
The two teams will meet up in Calgary on December 18th to complete their season series.

Like Friday, all but two teams were in action in the AJHL on Saturday night. The Olds Grizzlys will head to Camrose to battle the Kodiaks. The Grizzlys were looking to build off a 5-3 win over Okotoks on Friday night while the Kodiaks have won ten straight. The Calgary Canucks traveled south to Okotoks. The Canucks have dropped three straight while the Oilers have lost two in a row. Drumheller finished off a road trip in Spruce Grove. The Dragons have won two straight while the Saints are looking to rebound from a 3-1 setback to the Brooks Bandits on Friday night. Brooks also finished off their north road trip in Drayton Valley. The Bandits have won two straight while the Thunder are looking to snap an 11 game slide. The Calgary Mustangs opened up a northern road trip in Bonnyville. The Mustangs are looking to snap a two game losing streak while the Pontiacs are looking to bounce back from a 6-3 loss to Sherwood Park on Wednesday. Whitecourt finishes off their two game set in Grande Prairie. The Wolverines defeated the Storm 4-3 in a shootout on Friday. Sherwood Park also finishes off a two game trip in Fort McMurray. The Oil Barons doubled up the Crusaders 6-3 on Friday night.

Conner Lukan (assists to Austin Hunter and Nicolas Correale @19:43) would jam the puck past Skip. Shots favored the Saints 10-9 in the period.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the middle frame. Jarid Hauptman (assist to Brandon Biro @2:19) was all alone in front of the net and would deke out Skip. Hunter Mills (assists to Dakota Zaharichuk and Jarell Pinchuk @9:44) blasted a one-timer past Murray. Shots favored the Dragons 12-10 in the period and 21-20 in the hockey game.
The Saints would score the only two goals in the final frame. Riley Simpson (assists to Travis McEvoy and Josh Harris @1:18) would score his second of the night as he out waited Skip before sliding the puck into the net. While shorthanded the Saints would finish off the scoring. Cole Nicholson (assist to Jarid Hauptman @18:30) would fire the puck from his end all the way to an empty net. Shots favored the Saints 10-3 in the period and 30-24 in the hockey game.
Drumheller will be in Okotoks on December 18th while the Saints will be in Bonnyville on December 16th.
Brooks Bandits (26-7-1) @ Drayton Valley Thunder (12-22-1)
Josh Davies stopped 39 of 40 shots as the Bandits edged the Thunder 2-1 in overtime.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the opening frame. Shots favored the Thunder 14-11.
Like the first, neither team was able to turn on the red light in the second. Shots favored the Thunder 17-9 in the period and 31-20 in the hockey game.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the third frame. Hayden Dawes (assist to Trevor Poirier @5:32) hammered a shot from the left faceoff circle over the blocker of Bandits (starting) goaltender Josh Davies. Anthony Paskaruk (assists to Jared Cockrell and Shane Bear @12:58) would pounce on the rebound and beat Thunder (starting) goaltender Garrett Mason. Shots favored the Bandits 13-9 in the period but favored the Thunder 40-33 in the hockey game.
Overtime would last less than a minute before the Bandits were able to win the game. Austin Plevy (assist to Chase Clayton @0:57) backhanded a shot over the glove of Mason. Shots favored the Bandits 2-0 in overtime but favored the Thunder 40-35.

Calgary Mustangs (8-24-3) @ Bonnyville Pontiacs (13-13-6)
Kyler Hehn scored twice as the Pontiacs would double up the Mustangs 4-2.
The Mustangs would score the lone goal of the opening frame on the power play. Adam Berg (assists to Mason Mitchell and Brad Forrest @15:00) deflected the point shot past Pontiacs (starting) goaltender Joey Desrosiers. Shots favored the Pontiacs 16-8.
Both teams would score in the middle frame. Jordan Xavier (assist to Joshua McCulloch @6:12) snapped a shot over the blocker of Desrosiers. That would be the end of the night for Desrosiers who would give up two goals on 11 shots. Kyler Hehn (assists to Dillan McCombie and Brady Bakke @7:54) would go backhand to forehand and beat Mustangs (starting) goaltender Matthew McDonald. Shots favored the Pontiacs 10-5 in the period and 26-13 in the hockey game.
The Pontiacs would score three times in the third frame to pick up a 4-2 victory. Bobby McMann (assists to Ryan Piche and Steenn Pasichnuk @8:12) would jam the puck in on a goal mouth scramble. Just 42 seconds later Evan Warmington (assists to Cory Santoro and Ryan Black @8:54) snapped a shot over the glove of McDonald. Whitecourt Wolverines (9-20-4) @ Grande Prairie Storm (12-22-1)
Lance Yaremchuk scored the winner as the Wolverines defeated the Storm 2-1 in overtime.

Zach Fortin stopped all 18 shots as the Oil Barons shutout the Crusaders 2-0.

All but two teams were in action in the AJHL on Friday night. Canmore and Calgary finished off the home and home at the Max Bell Arena. The Eagles edged the Canucks 4-3 on Tuesday night. Drayton Valley traveled to Camrose to take on the Kodiaks. The Thunder have dropped their last ten games while the Kodiaks are riding a nine game winning streak. The Grizzlys and Oilers met up in Olds on Friday. Olds was looking to rebound from a 5-3 loss to the Mustangs last Friday while the Oilers were looking to rebound from a 6-2 loss to Brooks on Wednesday. The Brooks Bandits opened up a north road trip in Spruce Grove. The Bandits were looking to build off a 6-2 victory over Okotoks on Wednesday while the Saints were riding an eight game winning streak. The Wolverines and Storm opened up a two game set in Grande Prairie on Friday night. The Storm were looking to build on a 4-3 win over the Eagles last Saturday while the Wolverines were looking to snap a three game slide. Drumheller opened up a north road trip in Lloydminster. The Dragons were looking to build on their 4-1 win over the Mustangs last Saturday while the Bobcats were trying to build on a 5-2 win over the Wolverines on Wednesday. Sherwood Park traveled north to take on the Oil Barons in the first of back to back games in Fort McMurray as the two teams battle for third place. The Crusaders were looking to build on their 6-3 win over Bonnyville while the Oil Barons were looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Spruce Grove on Wednesday.
Canmore Eagles (15-17-1) @ Calgary Canucks (11-19-1)
Joe Serpico and Jordan Revie each scored once and added an assist as the Eagles defeated the Canucks 5-3.
The Eagles would get a pair of early goals, but the Canucks would respond with one of their own and trail 2-1 after one. Jordan Revie (assists to Brett Radford and Mackenzie Watson @5:29) fired a quick one-timer from the slot that beat Canucks (starting) goaltender Malcolm Walilko. Just over a minute later Joe Serpico (assist to Simon Philp @6:33) cleaned up the rebound to make it 2-0. Chase McMurphy (penalty shot @14:56) would go left to right and wrist the puck past Eagles (starting) goaltender Ryan Ferguson. Shots favored the Eagles 8-6.
Both teams would find the back of the net in the second. Adam Tisdale (assist to Simon Philp, and Noah Philp @3:32) one-timed a shot from the slot past a diving Walilko. Josh Betinol (assist to Connor McCallum and Matteo Milroy @14:07) took a centering pass and wired a quick shot past Ferguson. Shots favored the Canucks 13-8 in the period and 19-16.

Patrick Gora stopped all 25 shots as the Kodiaks shutout the Thunder 4-0.

The Kodiaks would add a pair of special team goals in the third to pick up a 4-0 win. On the power play, the Kodiaks would extend their lead to 3-0.
