Vincent Duplessis Commits to Boston University Terriers

Goaltender Vincent Duplessis has committed to attend Boston University for the upcoming season.  The Hockey East powerhouse led by coach Albie O?Connell are five-time National Champions and play in NCAA Division I.

The Quebec City, Quebec native, was acquired in the off-season from the Merritt Centennials (BCHL) and quickly became the goalie that everyone thought he would become coming out of the well-regarded Bishops College prep team. This past season, Vincent finished Top 5 in the AJHL in Save %, GSAA and Games Played amongst qualified goalies. Vincent, 20, was named the Canalta Hotels Defensive Player of the Week in January and was a finalist for the AJHL Top Goaltender Award this season.

?Vinny came in this year and gave us much needed stability at the goaltender position,? stated Wolverines Head Coach Shawn Martin. ?His work ethic is second to none, and as an organization we couldn?t be prouder of him attaining this goal he set out for.”

Goalie Coach Jamie McCaig had the following comments, ?We have had the opportunity to work together the past three seasons, and all of his hard work and dedication has paid off. BU is getting an elite goalie as well as an elite person. This is a great day for Vinny, our whole staff and hockey club.”

Vincent had this to say about his commitment, ?It?s a dream come true to join BU as that is where my college hockey dream started; I am honoured to join such a well-respected program.  I am truly grateful to the Whitecourt Wolverines for the opportunity they gave me this past season and am very thankful for all the support my family, billet family, Wolverines staff, Wolverines owners and fans have given me.”

On behalf of the Wolverines organization, we want to congratulate Vincent and his family on this achievement and thank him for his tenure in Whitecourt. Good luck in Boston next year.

Vincent is the 6th Post Secondary commitment the Wolverines have had this season along with:
