The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the hiring of Dean Laschowski as the AJHL Video Review Manager. The newly created position is set to begin immediately as the start of the 2012-2013 AJHL season is rapidly approaching.
Laschowski will work with AJHL Vice President, George McCorry, in the areas of video review, supervision of game officials, and supplementary discipline.
AJHL President Craig T. Cripps believes the hiring of a Video Review Manager is a critical new advancement for the League. “We are proud to have Dean Laschowski join our staff and are grateful for the unique experience and knowledge he brings with him. This new position further extends our commitment to player safety and is another example of the AJHL showing strong leadership in Junior A hockey across the CJHL.”
Prior to joining the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Dean Laschowski was the Officiating Manager for the Western Hockey League. Laschowski has officiated several marquis events for Hockey Alberta, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), Western Hockey League (WHL), IIHF and Hockey Canada. Highlights of his career include the Memorial Cup, Alberta Cup, Royal Bank Cup and Men's World Championship.
Laschowski is familiar with the Alberta Junior Hockey League as he is also a former AJHL Linesman, “I believe the skills and knowledge that I have gained in my past experiences will make a great contribution in my new position with the AJHL. I am looking forward to be being part of the AJHL once again.”
The Alberta Junior Hockey League will open the 2012 Exhibition Season on August 21st, followed by the start of the 2012-2013 Regular Season on September 7th, 2012
