Rookie forward Matthew Hilderman is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week after leading all AJHL skaters with seven-points (5G, 2A) from September 29th-October 5th, 2025.
The 16 year-old Drumheller Dragon scored four goals and picked up an assist in an 8-7 win over the Fort McMurray Oil Barons to start a three-game road trip through the North Division on October 2nd. Hilderman (Cochrane, AB) was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game for his standout performance. On October 4th, the Seattle Thunderbirds draft pick scored the game winning goal and added an assist as the Dragons completed the road trip with a 5-4 win versus the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
Matthew Hilderman is tied for first among AJHL rookies with 11 points (6G, 5A) in six games and seventh overall in the AJHL Scoring Race.
The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is Dragons teammate Tyler Deakos (Canmore, AB). The 2007-born forward recorded four points (2G, 2A) in three games played to extend his active point streak to four games.
Tyler scored the game winner and collected an assist in the 8-7 win over the Oil Barons on October 2nd. He would score the only goal of the game for the Dragons in a 4-1 loss in Fort McMurray the following night and earn the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game award. On October 4th, Deakos rounded out the weekend with his second assist as the Dragons took a 5-4 win in Bonnyville. Deakos (Lethbridge Hurricanes) is tied for third among AJHL rookies with nine points (5G, 4A).
Canmore Eagles Captain Casey Black is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. With four points (2G, 2A) in two road games for the Eagles, the veteran defenceman led the team to consecutive wins.
Black (Calgary, AB) and the Eagles delivered the first loss of the season to the Whitecourt Wolverines on October 4th. Casey scored two goals and an assist and was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game in the 4-2 win. The Eagles won by the same score the next afternoon against the Drayton Valley Thunder and Black picked up an assist on the game winner. Casey Black (2005) is tied for the most points among AJHL blueliners with nine points (3G, 6A) in six games.
