The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Whitecourt Wolverines Captain Jalen Bianchet following a six-point (4G, 2A) week from October 6th-12th, 2025.
The AJHL leading scorer had two goals in a 7-0 shutout versus the Bonnyville Pontiacs on October 8th and recorded two assists in a 7-3 win over the Camrose Kodiaks on October 11th. Bianchet (2005) was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game with two goals in a 7-3 loss against the visiting Lloydminster Bobcats on October 12th.
Jalen Bianchet has a league-leading 18 points (12G, 6A) in nine games played, averaging two points per game, including seven multi-point games. The third-year Wolverine has led his team to first place in the Bunge AJHL North Division.
Goaltender Matthew Kondro is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with a 2-0 record for the Lloydminster Bobcats.
Kondro (2007) allowed just one goal on 37 shots in a 2-1 win over the Devon Xtreme on October 8th. The St Albert, AB goaltender helped extend the Bobcats win streak to four games with 31 saves and a 7-3 win over the division-leading Wolverines on October 12th. Matthew was recognized as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game in the road victory.
Since returning from the Red Deer Rebels, Kondro has posted a 4-1 record and sits among the top five goaltenders in the AJHL with a 2.56 GAA and .910 save percentage.
For a second consecutive week, forward Tyler Deakos is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week. The Dragons rookie recorded five points (2G, 3A) in two games and extended his six-game point streak.
Deakos (Canmore, AB) opened Thanksgiving Weekend with an assist in a 3-2 shooutout loss versus the visiting Camrose Kodiaks on October 10th. The 18-year old forward scored two goals, including the game winning goal, and added two assists in a 5-4 overtime final against the Drayton Valley Thunder on October 12th. Deakos received the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game award after scoring his second overtime winner of the regular season.
Tyler Deakos leads all AJHL rookies with 14 points (7G, 7A) in nine games played. The Dragons hold first place in the Bunge AJHL South Division entering Tuesday night’s game in Canmore.
