Austin Yadlowski to Play for the Mount Royal Cougars

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenceman Austin Yadlowski (Edmonton, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Mount Royal Cougars in the Canada West Conference of the C.I.S. (Canadian Interuniversity Sports) for the upcoming 2014-2015 season.

Austin completed his final year of junior eligibility in Fort McMurray with the Oil Barons.  In 73 games, he tallied 6 goals and 30 assists, both in the regular season and in playoffs.  In total, he played five years in the Alberta Junior Hockey League totaling 246 games and 91 points

Austin’s ability to skate, read the play, and intelligence made him a valuable member of the Oil Barons at both ends of the rink.  He played a huge part in the success the nationally ranked team experienced in the regular season and in the playoffs.

He becomes the 6th Oil Baron from this year’s team to secure a post-secondary scholarship joining; Tanner Jaillet (Denver), Kevin Miller (Ohio State), Alex Cromwell (Providence), Mitch Vanderlaan (Cornell), and Brennan Saulnier (Alabama-Huntsville).

The Oil Barons organization would like to congratulate Austin and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
