Forward TJ Hughes of the Brooks Bandits is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for November 2021. Hughes scored 30 points (13G, 17A) in 12 games through November and extended his active point streak to 28 games.
TJ Hughes was selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game three times, scored three game winning goals, and recorded ten multi-point games in November. The 20 year-old alternate captain recently received the honour of Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week for November 22nd-28th with an eight-point performance over three games.
Hughes (Hamilton, ON) leads the AJHL in goals with 28, and is second in the AJHL Scoring Race with 58 points (28G, 30A) behind teammate Ryan McAllister. He also leads the League in powerplay goals (12). Hughes is averaging 2.0 points per game and has recorded 14 multi-point games within his 28-game point streak.
The third-year Bandit is committed to Mercyhurst University of the NCAA Division I.
The Brooks Bandits are ranked first in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) and sit first overall in the AJHL Standings with a record of 27-1-1. The Bandits haven’t lost in regulation in 27 consecutive games and have won seven straight.
