Brian Burke to Headline Brooks Bandits Playoff Dinner

BROOKS, AB (February 14, 2017) – Calgary Flames President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke will headline the Brooks Bandits first-ever Playoff Dinner on Tuesday, March 7th at the Centennial Regional Arena, the team announced today.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Brooks & District Junior “A” Hockey Association, which owns and operates the Bandits, and will be the first major non-hockey event held by the Bandits on the ice surface at the CRA, thanks to the City of Brooks’ newly acquired ice decking at the arena.

The event will begin with cocktails at 6:00 PM with dinner served at 7:00 PM. Single tickets cost just $99, with tables of 8 available for $799 including a complimentary beverage for each member of the group. Bandit season ticket holders can receive a discount on single tickets, while team sponsors and suite holders can receive discounted tables; they can call the Bandits office at (403) 501-0122 or visit at the CRA to purchase at their discounted rate. Regular tickets can be purchased online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.

As one of hockey’s most well-known personalities, Burke will speak about his long and varied career in the sports world. Prior to his time with the Flames, Burke served as President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, General Manager of the Anaheim Ducks during which he won the 2007 Stanley Cup, and General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks. He has also been involved with the U.S. national Olympic hockey teams, and has become a well-known community activists through causes like the You Can Play Project, which will also benefit from the event.

The Bandit organization looks forward to welcoming Mr. Burke and the Bandit community to the CRA for a spectacular evening to celebrate another fantastic regular season, and prime the community for another exciting playoff run!
