Drumheller Dragons forward Jordan Taupert is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the final week of October. Taupert scored 5 points (2G, 3A) in 2 games against South Division rivals last week.
Taupert recorded a 4 point game (2G, 2A) on October 29th in a win over the Calgary Mustangs, and assisted on the game winning goal. The 18 year-old from Medicine Hat, Ab leads the Dragons in scoring with 20 points (7G, 13A) and an average of 1.2 points per game. The third year AJHL veteran is among the Top 15 AJHL Scorers.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Brooks Bandits goaltender Mitchel Benson. The 18 year-old posted 2 wins and a 1.0 GAA on a North Division swing last week.
Brooks acquired Mitchel Benson (Windsor, ON) from the BCHL on October 16th. He is 2-1-0 with a 1.68 GAA since joining the AJHL. Benson and the Bandits are 2nd in the South Division Standings at 10-3-2 and have won 6 of the last 7 games.
The Brooks Bandits and Camrose Kodiaks will battle in a Halloween Showdown tonight in Camrose at 7:00pm.
