The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) is proud to announce a new partnership with Crescent Point Energy as title sponsor of the Western Canada Cup. The newly developed Western Canada Cup is the future regional playoff format of the four western leagues in the CJHL. The Western Canada Cup Champion and the runner-up will both represent western Canada at the RBC Cup National Junior A Championship beginning in 2013.
The four-year agreement will see the partnership commence with the inaugural event in 2013 and continue throughout the tournament’s circuit of western Canada. The 2013 Western Canada Cup will be held in Nanaimo, BC from April 26 to May 5. The event will then rotate amongst the four leagues with hosts from the MJHL (2014), AJHL (2015), and SJHL (2016). A Site Selection Committee will be responsible for selecting a host team annually, upon the recommendation of the host league.

The official Western Canada Cup event logo is now inclusive of the Crescent Point Energy trademark. The logo concept is based on the classic shield and banner motif, and reflects the four leagues through the use of the four stars in the banner. The bold graphic outline and overall balanced composition provide a solid, confident icon to represent the ideals of sportsmanship and excellence in Junior A Hockey. The colours used within the Western Canada Cup logo pay homage to the existing palette of the CJHL and Crescent Point Energy.
