Lloydminster Bobcats forward Luke Dooley is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for September 21st-27th, 2026. Dooley scored two goals and picked up five points in a double header against the visiting Calgary Canucks.
Luke Dooley (2007) posted two assists on September 24th in a 6-3 loss to the Canucks. The second-year Bobcat earned the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game award the following night with two goals, including the game winner, and an assist in a 6-2 win. Dooley currently leads the team with six points (3G, 3A) after two weekends of regular season action.
For a second consecutive week, a Grande Prairie Storm defenceman has been selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. Rydley Gerbrandt recorded five points (1G, 4A) on a three-game road trip.
The 2008-born blueliner scored his first AJHL goal on September 23rd and added an assist in a 7-4 loss to the Whitecourt Wolverines. The Storm rounded out the trip with two consecutive wins in Camrose on September 26th and 27th and an assist in each game for Gerbrandt.
The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is 18 year-old forward Jake Banicevic. The Wolverines rookie leads the team in scoring after recording four points (2G, 2A) last week.
Banicevic was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game on September 23rd with two goals and an assist in a 7-4 home win versus the Storm. He was held off the scoresheet September 25th in Olds, then earned an assist in a 6-2 loss in Drumheller on September 26th. Jake has six points (3G, 3A) through the opening four games of the season.
