The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 1995 forward Madison Dunn has committed to play for the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Located in Huntsville, AL the “Chargers” play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association under Head Coach Mike Corbett. Coach Corbett has a history in Division I hockey spending 10 seasons as an Assistant at Air Force. UAH has appeared in the National Tournament as recently as 2010 when the Chargers lost to top-ranked Miami 2-1 at the Midwest Regional.
Madison is from Calgary, AB and grew up playing minor hockey for the Trails West Hockey Association before joining the NWCAA for his Bantam and Midget Hockey. In addition to those programs he spent a season playing in the NAPHL for Omaha AAA. Madison joined the Bandits midway through the 2012-2013 season and at the time was the leading scorer in the AMHL playing for the Calgary Flames. Madison was fortunate to be a contributor to the RBC Cup Championship team in 2013 where he gained experience that led him to being named the Captain of the Bandits in 2014. During his time in Brooks Madison has become a leader and offensive catalyst putting up 32 goals and 68 assists for 100 points in 157 regular season games.
Madison Dunn – “After I got the chance to be an affiliate player for a couple games, I realized that the Brooks Bandits was a perfect fit for me as an organization. I was extremely excited when I was asked to join the team half way through the season. I have developed tremendously during the last three seasons in Brooks both on and off the ice. I am very grateful for the opportunities the Brooks Bandits organization have given me to achieve my goal of playing Division I hockey.”
Bandits Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Madison was an exciting player when he joined our team and still plays with the same drive today. He has steadily worked on rounding out his 200-foot game while continuing to score points. Madison has always played with energy and wears his heart on his sleeve. This season we named him our captain due to his experience and upbeat personality. Like many others this has been a long term goal for him and we are all excited to see him secure his future.”
The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Madison and his family on his athletic and academic future.
