The Canmore Eagles played a perfect road game.
Led by a pair of rookies, the Eagles defeated the Camrose Kodiaks 1-0 to take the opening game of this best-of-five Alberta Junior Hockey League South Division playoff series.
Ryan Ferguson, who earlier in the day was named to the South all-league team and all-rookie squad, made 25 saves to record a shutout in his first junior A playoff start. Kurt Hildebrand scored the only goal of the game, on the power play just 3:40 into the contest.
