Fink, Court & Beaudoin Named as AJHL Weekly Award Winners

The Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week is Aiden Fink of the Brooks Bandits.  The AJHL scoring leader recorded nine points (3G, 6A) the week of October 17th-23rd to add to his current season total of 34 points (14G, 20A).

Fink (Calgary, AB) opened the scoring in a 9-0 shutout of the Olds Grizzlys on October 19th to start the week.  His first goal would be the eventual game winner before he added another goal and three assists for a five-point game.  His 14-game point streak game to an end on October 21st as the Bandits fell 2-1 in OT versus the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Aiden again opened the scoring on October 22nd on his way to a four-point game with a goal and three assists in a 7-2 road win over the Lloydminster Bobcats and was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game.

Earlier today, Fink (2004) was identified on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.   Fink is in his second season with the Bandits and is committed to the University of Wisconsin (NCAA).

For the second consecutive week, the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Sam Court (2004) of the Brooks Bandits.  A five-point (1G, 4A) performance for the first year defenceman last week has him tied for second in points among AJHL rookies and tied for second among all AJHL defencemen with 18 points (3G, 15A).

The University of New Hampshire (NCAA) commit enjoyed a career-high four-point game on October 19th with a goal and three assists versus the Olds Grizzlys.  Court (Winnipeg, MB) also recorded an assist in the Bandits second win of the week on October 22nd versus the Lloydminster Bobcats.

The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is Bonnyville Pontiacs forward Nicolas Beaudoin of St Paul, AB.  With five points last week, Beaudoin now sits second in team scoring and tied for fourth among AJHL rookies with 14 points (10G, 4A).

Bonnyville started the week with a 2-1 OT victory versus the Grande Prairie Storm on October 18th with both goals coming from Beaudoin, marking his second game winning goal of the season and earning the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game.  The Pontiacs fell 4-2 to the Whitecourt Wolverines on October 19th with Nicolas earning an assist on the scoresheet.  He then scored a goal and an assist to wrap up the weekend in a 6-0 shutout of the Storm on October 22nd.

Beaudoin (2004) announced his commitment to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (NCAA) on October 22nd.
