Future Bandit Falanga commits to Sacred Heart

BROOKS, AB (June 10, 2015) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce that signed Bandit forward Michael Falanga (East Haven, CT) has committed to attend and play for Sacred Heart University in the 2017-18 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season.

Located in Milford, Connecticut, the Pioneers play in the Division I Atlantic Hockey conference, under head coach C.J. Marottolo.

“The opportunity for Mike to play Division I hockey in-state is pretty special,” said Bandits head coach and general manager Ryan Papaioannou. “We are looking forward to working with him for the next two seasons prior to joining Sacred Heart.”

Falanga committed to Brooks in May after leading the 18U Connecticut Wolf Pack in scoring this past season, with 69 points (30 goals, 39 assists) in 62 total games at the Elite AAA level.

Falanga is the sixth player on the 2015-16 Bandits roster committed to play NCAA Division I post-secondary hockey, joining:
