🚨‼ PAYNE COMMITS ‼🚨

The Camrose Kodiaks are proud to announce that 2006-born forward Liam Payne has committed to continue his hockey and academic career at McGill University for the 2026-27 season.

Payne has been an important part of the Kodiaks lineup, bringing a consistent high octane offensive mindset. His dedication to developing his game and competing at a high level has earned him the opportunity to advance to the next stage of his hockey journey.

Kodiaks General Manager Eric Kroetch shared, “Liam came to Camrose and immediately made an impact offensively, recording 84 points in 72 regular season games. Payne has a great nose for the net and was our leading scorer this past season, which will be tough to replace. Our organization is extremely excited and proud to see him earn an opportunity at a prestigious USports university with the rich history and tradition of McGill.”

Payne shared, “I want to thank my family, teammates, billets, coaches, advisor and the entire Kodiaks organization for everything they’ve done for me to help get me to where I am now”

The Camrose Kodiaks, in partnership with United Sport & Cycle, would like to congratulate Liam and his family on this exciting accomplishment.
