Goaltender Chase Martin Commits to Augustana

The Lloydminster Jr. ‘A' Bobcats are proud to announce that 20 year old goaltender Chase Martin has accepted a scholarship and is committed to play for the University of Alberta – Augustana Vikings Men’s Hockey Program next season. The Vikings are located in Camrose, AB, and play in the Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference (ACAC). Chase plans to pursue a degree in Business.

Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Chase joined the Bobcats at the beginning of 2011-12 and has been with the team for the past two seasons. Chase posted a 24-25-6 record with 4 shutouts in 65 games played with the Bobcats. Prior to joining the Bobcats, Chase spent time in Spokane (WHL), Calgary Canucks (AJHL), and Cowichan Valley (BCHL).

“Chase Martin was a great teammate and player for the Bobcats,” said assistant coach Kyle Tapp, who coached Chase in Lloydminster over the past two seasons. “Chase has moved on to a great ACAC program in Camrose and will have the opportunity to further both his hockey and academic career.” The Bobcats organization would like to congratulate Chase and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically. The Bobcats have now committed both graduating players from the team’s 2012-13 roster to post-secondary hockey programs.
