Hesse Commits to the Lake Superior State University Lakers

The Bonnyville PONTIACS are extremely happy to announce that 3rd year goaltender Easton HESSE has committed to attend and play for Lake Superior State University Lakers next season.

Lake Superior State University, located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan plays in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (NCAA Division 1) under head coach Damon Whitten. The Lakers won the Western Collegiate Hockey Association title and earned the conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA tournament this season.

Easton HESSE posted a 2.11 goals against average and .931save percentage, and 2 shutouts in 2020/21. Over the course of his PONTIAC career he has played 92 games (54 wins-28 losses-7 ties) and his career GAA is .918 (play-offs – .940). His GSAA (goals/saved above average) with the PONTIACS is a remarkable 36.83.

Over the last three years, Easton has been the consummate PONTIAC and has been an MVP everyday both on and off the ice. Easton is a true professional and he can control a game because of his technical abilities along with his mental competitiveness.”

Easton was the PONTIACS Top Rookie as an 18-year-old and last year’s Matt Cook Unsung Hero award winner.
