Hoekstra Commits to NAIT Ooks

The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce that 20 year old, Connor Hoekstra, has committed to play for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and will join fellow Saint Kenny Cameron for the 2014-15 season.  The NAIT Ooks are a member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).

A four year veteran in the AJHL, Connor split his time with the Canmore Eagles and the Spruce Grove Saints. During his junior career, Connor amassed 48 goals, 49 assists for 97 points while also totaling 356 PIMS.

“It's a privilege to be part of the NAIT Ooks and I couldn't be more excited,” stated Connor Hoekstra. “I'd like to thank the Spruce Grove Saints and the Canmore Eagles organizations for putting me through a great four years, and helping me get to the next level.”

“A hard working, character player, Connor was an asset who brought tremendous leadership qualities to our team,” states coach Jason McKee.  “Connor always put the team first, and his efforts and commitment to the team were rewarded with an AJHL championship in his final year of junior hockey.”

The Saints organization would like to congratulate Connor and his family on this step in his career, and wish him continued success moving forward, both athletically and academically.

Connor Hoekstra is the 8th Saint player to commit to a post secondary institution this season.
