The Lloydminster Jr. A Bobcats are pleased to announce that 20 year old Forward Tanner Dunkle (Red Deer, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Ooks (NAIT) of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. The NAIT Hockey Team is coached by Serge Lajoie.
Tanner was obtained by the Bobcats at the midpoint of the 2012-13 Season. Tanner played a total of 245 Games in the AJHL with the Olds Grizzlys and the Lloydminster Bobcats. Over his AJHL career, Tanner tallied 83 goals (12 Game Winners) and 91 assists for a total of 174 points, both in the regular season and playoffs. Tanner played a key role with the Bobcats over the past two seasons by contributing in all aspects of the game and in both ends of the rink. Tanner was very defensively responsible, a quick skater, and turned out to be one of the top penalty killers in the AJHL as the result of his work ethic, skill and tenacity. Tanner was one of the key components contributing towards the Bobcats being successful at climbing out of the basement in the 2012-13 Season to a very successful 3rd place finish and playoff drive in the 2013-14 Season.
NAIT Ooks Head Coach Serge Lajoie quoted, “We have certainly done our background on Tanner and based on the reports we have received combined with watching Tanner throughout his Junior career, we are of the firm opinion that he will be a valued member to our program”.
The Lloydminster Bobcats organization would like to take this opportunity congratulate Tanner and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically as he moves forward in his career.
