Lucas Knorr (Edmonton, AB) recorded an assist in a 6-2 loss in Calgary versus the Canucks on December 10th before exploding for a career-high four-point game with two goals and two assists in a 7-3 win over the Olds Grizzlys on December 12th. The 18 year-old scored the game winner and was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game. On December 13th, Knorr scored a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win versus the visiting Canmore Eagles.
Knorr leads the Devon Xtreme with 36 points (15G, 21A) in 22 games and is tied for sixth in the league scoring race in his second AJHL season.
Ethan Makokis of the Fort McMurray Oil Barons is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. The 2007-born defenceman had three points (2G, 1A) in two victories for the Oil Barons.
Makokis (St Paul, AB) opened the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 shootout win versus the league-leading Whitecourt Wolverines. He was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game for his performance. On December 12th he recorded his third goal of the season as the MOB defeated the visiting Camrose Kodiaks 4-3 in overtime.
The Oil Barons begin a four-game road trip through the Bunge AJHL South Division tonight to wrap up their season for 2025.
Olds Grizzlys forward Ryder Riedel is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for December 8th-14th, 2025. Riedel (2007) extended his four-game point streak with three points in two games and is now third among AJHL rookie leaders.
Riedel (Didsbury, AB) posted two assists on December 12th in a 7-3 loss to the Xtreme, then recorded his 13th assist of the season in a 3-2 overtime loss to the first place Whitecourt Wolverines the following night.
This is the third Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week honour for Riedel who is third in team scoring with 18 points in 15 games played.
