The Camrose Kodiaks are proud to partner with Farm Credit Canada, to do a food drive at the upcoming Kodiaks home games on Thursday, October 6th and Saturday, October 8th.
All fans attending the next two Kodiaks home games are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game. All food items will be collected and then donated by the Camrose Kodiaks to Farm Credit Canada, as a part of their Drive Away Hunger Campaign.
The initiative is a part of a commitment the Camrose Kodiaks are making to the community during the 2011-12 hockey season, called “Kodiaks Body Check Hunger.”
This initiative entails the Kodiaks players helping out with various food drive programs throughout the beginning of the season, such as the food drive during the inter-squad Black vs. White game in August, the aforementioned food drive with Farm Credit Canada in October, and an upcoming food drive in the month of November.
The Kodiaks are showing the community of Camrose that they can make a difference, and believe that no family should have to struggle with the hardship of hunger.
