The Okotoks Oilers are pleased to announce that Craig Gans, a 20-year old defenseman from Olds, AB will be pursuing his education and furthering his hockey career at SAIT in Calgary.
Gans finished his junior career playing 39 games with the Oilers after being acquired from the Olds Grizzlys in November 2011. Throughout his 3-year AJHL career with Okotoks and Olds, Gans played 168 regular season games recording 16 goals and 69 points with 436 penalty minutes. The SAIT Trojans, who compete in the ACAC, will be getting a physical, 2-way mobile defenseman that plays with an edge to his game on a nightly basis.
The entire Oilers organization would like to congratulate Craig and his family on this accomplishment and wish him the best of luck as he moves on to the next level of his hockey career and education at SAIT.
Gans is the 10th player from the 2011-2012 Oilers roster to commit to a post secondary hockey program.
