Olstad Commits to Wilfrid Laurier University

The Okotoks Oilers are pleased to announce that graduate forward Tanner Olstad has committed to Wilfrid Laurier University for the 2013/2014 season.   The Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ontario play in the CIS – Ontario University Athletic Assocation.

Tanner re-joined the Oilers for his 20-year old Junior season, after playing with the Oilers during the 2009-2010 season.  Tanner finished this season with 43 points in 57 games, and his Oiler career with 63 points in 86 games played.  Tanner spent the majority of his junior career in the WHL, where he registered 29 points in 125 games played with the Regina Pats and Tri City Americans.

Coach James Poole stated, “Tanner was a big part of our success this season through his leadership, work ethic and team commitment.   Tanner will be missed on & off the ice as his passion & competitive nature was a big reason for his success as a player and set a great example for which we hope all Oiler players can aspire to”

The Oilers organization would like to thank Tanner for his commitment to the Oilers organization and wish him the best of luck in his academic and athletic pursuits at Wilfrid Laurier University.
