SHERWOOD PARK, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders are pleased to announce a 40th anniversary alumni weekend on September 14th and 15th in celebration of the organization’s 40th season in Strathcona County.
“It’s a unique opportunity to get to celebrate our past,” said Crusaders marketing and media director Spencer Love at the time of the announcement. “We’re thrilled to be able to honour both our past and current members of our organization; we’re incredibly proud of our history in Sherwood Park, and are excited to get to share that with our sponsors, fans, and the entire community of Strathcona County throughout the entirety of the 18/19 season”.
The organization will begin the 40th anniversary alumni weekend with a regular season kick-off party at Average Joes Sports Bar, the home away from home of the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Fans in attendance for the ticketed event will be allowed to mingle with a number of Crusaders alumni, partake in a silent auction featuring a number of 40th-anniversary exclusive items, and receive a free ticket to the Crusaders Alumni Game on September 15th. Finally, at 7:00 p.m, fans in attendance will get to watch the Crusaders regular season home opener against the Drayton Valley Thunder.
The following day, Sherwood Park will celebrate the start of the Crusaders 40th anniversary with both an Alumni Game and the Crusaders 2018/2019 Home Opener. At 4:30 PM, alumni from throughout the Crusaders history will take the ice in the organization’s 40th-anniversary alumni classic, followed by a post-game social in the Sherwood Park Arena. At 7:00, the Crusaders will take the ice against the Drayton Valley Thunder for their first home game of the AJHL season after a brief pre-game ceremony.
Tickets for all events will be offered in an exclusive pre-sale to sponsors and season ticket holders on Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.., and can be purchased at the Crusaders office or at tickets.sherwoodparkcrusaders.ca.
