SINGLETON, JONES AND JAMIESON SELECTED AS AJHL WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS

Calgary Canucks Captain Bowden Singleton (Tennessee State University) is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week with seven points (3G, 4A) in two games and the continuation of a five-game point streak.

Singleton (Calgary, AB) scored a goal and two assists in a 7-0 shutout win against the visiting Camrose Kodiaks on March 8th.  The Canuck forward recorded two more goals and two assists in a four-point game on March 9th as the Canucks dominated the Olds Grizzlys 11-1.  Bowden has 13 points in his last five games, including four multi-point games.

This is the third Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week award for Singelton in the 2024-25 season.  The 20 year-old veteran is averaging 1.57 points per game with 58 points (22G, 36A) in 37 games played and is tied for fifth in the AJHL Scoring Race.

Teammate Rhys Jamieson (Everett Silvertips) is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week after collecting four points (3G, 1A) in the two Canuck victories.  The 2008-born forward earned the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game award on March 8th with a goal and an assist in the win.  He followed his Captain’s lead and also scored two goals in the March 9th match against the visiting Grizzlys.

Jamieson (Calgary, AB) is enjoying a four-game point streak and has recorded 23 points (12G, 11A) in 36 games this season.

The Canucks moved into first place in the Viterra AJHL South Division over the weekend and have just two regular season games remaining.

The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is goaltender Nicholas Jones of the Grande Prairie Storm.  The veteran goalie posted a 2-0 record from March 3rd-9th, 2025 as the Storm extended to a three-game winning streak.

Jones (Calgary, AB) made 23 saves and allowed just one goal against in a 5-1 win over the Fort McMurray Oil Barons to capture the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game award on March 7th. In the second game of the double header versus the Oil Barons, the 20 year-old made 27 saves in a 6-2 final for the Storm.

Jones was previously recognized as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for January 20th-26th, 2025.  In his second and final season with the Storm, Jones is fifth among AJHL goaltenders with a 2.39 GAA and sixth overall with a .916 save percentage.

With three regular season games remaining, the Storm are in a battle for home ice in the North Division of the 2025 Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs.
