It was a game seemingly settled 15 seconds after the opening face-off.
After retrieving the puck in the corner, Fort McMurray Oil Barons Carson Cooper cut out in front of Grande Prairie Storm goalie Patrick Terriss. Untouched, the MOB forward had all day to tuck the puck around Terriss’ outstretched pad to opening the scoring at 19:45 of the first period.
It was a sign of things to come as the Oil Barons stomped all over the Storm for a 9-4 win and a three-game sweep of their best-of-five play-off series in Alberta Junior Hockey League action.
