First-year Wolverine, Travis Verbeek, has accepted a scholarship to attend Alaska Anchorage to play for the Seawolves. The Flesherton, ON product has been an offensive force since joining the Wolverines via the Drayton Valley Thunder in a off-season move. He has compiled 26 points in 29 games and is leading the team in goals with 15.
“It’s been a long road for Travis to secure this opportunity, but very well deserved,” stated Head Coach Shawn Martin. “Since he has arrived, he has completely bought into our structure and environment. I am looking forward to continue to coach Travis.”
Travis had this to say about his commitment, “I am very excited and honored to announce my commitment to the University of Alaska Anchorage. I would like to thank all my coaches, teammates, friends and especially my family that has helped me along the way. I cannot wait to get started.”
On behalf of the Wolverines organization, we want to congratulate Travis and his family on this achievement.
