Tyler Briggs Commits To Clarkson University

The Lloydminster Jr. A Bobcats are pleased to announce that 19 year old goaltender Tyler Briggs (Sherwood Park, Alberta) has accepted a scholarship to attend and play for Clarkson University (NCAA Div. I) for the 2013-2014 hockey season. The Clarkson University Golden Knights play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECACHL).
In his second full season with the team, Tyler posted a 20-2-5 record and four shutouts with a 1.98 GAA and a .914 save percentage in the 2011-2012 regular season. Tyler set new Bobcats franchise records for Lowest GAA and Most Shutouts in a Single Season. Tyler was also named the 2011-2012 AJHL Top Goaltender, the first goaltender in team history to win the award. In recognition of his outstanding season, the AJHL named Tyler to the AJHL Reebok North Division All-League Team.
The Bobcats organization would like to congratulate Tyler and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
The Westside Warriors of the BCHL hold the rights to Tyler for the 2012-2013 as part of a transaction completed by the Bobcats on January 10th to acquire defensemen Izaak Berglund and Michael King.
The Bobcats have now committed seven players from the team’s 2011-2012 roster to post-secondary hockey programs, including four players to NCAA Div. I.
