Western Canada Cup Preview – Day One

The Alberta Junior Hockey League will begin defence of their home turf on day one at the 2015 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup, which opens at the Casman Centre in Fort McMurray Saturday.

The Spruce Grove Saints — who repeated as Gas Drive Cup Champions with an overtime victory over the Brooks Bandits less than a week ago — will open up the tournament with an afternoon date against the British Columbia Hockey League champion Penticton Vees.

Serving as the hosts for the tournament, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons will look to start their tournament off on the right foot, playing the Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Portage Terriers.
