First-Ever High-Definition WCC Broadcast Starts Saturday

The 2015 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup will be the first to be broadcast in high-definition through the tournament’s partnership with FastHockey.com.

Live subscription-pay broadcasts of all 13 games of the tournament will feature multiple camera angles, replays, graphics, live scoring information, and video features to generate a truly professional feel to the event.

Thanks to recent improvements to the Casman Centre, the high-definition broadcast will also be fed to televisions around the rink and in the Safway Events Tent, with play-by-play audio fed through speakers throughout the building as well.

A freely-available audio stream of the games will also be accessible through the Western Canada Cup website at westerncanadacup.com, with links available to purchase a FastHockey subscription for just $9.99 for a full day of games or $26.99 for a full month.

Live radio broadcasts of the Western Canada Cup are also accessible through EZ Rock Penticton (penticton.myezrock.com) for Penticton Vees games, CK750 (ck750.com) for Melfort Mustangs games, Mix96 (portageonline.com) for Portage Terriers games, and ROCK 97.9 (rock979.ca) for Fort McMurray Oil Barons games.

Tyler King will serve as lead broadcaster for the tournament’s video broadcasts and audio stream. King has served as play-by-play announcer for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for the last 4 years, and spent time with the Kingston Voyageurs of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League prior to that.

The opening game of the Western Canada Cup is this Saturday at 2:30 PM when the Spruce Grove Saints take on the Penticton Vees. Tickets are available online at tickets.oilbarons.com with the live high-definition broadcast available exclusively on FastHockey.com.
