First-Ever High-Definition WCC Broadcast Starts Saturday

Live subscription-pay broadcasts of all 13 games of the tournament will feature multiple camera angles, replays, graphics, live scoring information, and video features to generate a truly professional feel to the event.

Thanks to recent improvements to the Casman Centre, the high-definition broadcast will also be fed to televisions around the rink and in the Safway Events Tent, with play-by-play audio fed through speakers throughout the building as well.

A freely-available audio stream of the games will also be accessible through the Western Canada Cup website at, with links available to purchase a FastHockey subscription for just $9.99 for a full day of games or $26.99 for a full month.

Tyler King will serve as lead broadcaster for the tournament’s video broadcasts and audio stream. King has served as play-by-play announcer for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for the last 4 years, and spent time with the Kingston Voyageurs of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League prior to that.
